Ratings & Reviews for ChoiceDek Beach House Gray Composite

Too hot to walk on

I purchased my Choice deck over 20 years ago and for the most part it has been okay. However, during the hot months you can't walk on it with your bare feet. It will blisted your feet in a heart beat. It slso moves allot in cool weather it contacts leaving gaps where it meets the inside decking but expands during hot weather causing the trim boards to move. Really an issue that they say can' be corrected.

Useless Warrantee

Board is fine along as you power wash it once a year. Problem is if you need to replace one; they don't make it any more. When I asked about the lifetime warranty if I need a another board I was told I was out of luck. Warranty for ChoiceDek is for the lifetime for the period of manufacture, about 5 years. Sorry I bought this product.

Horrible product! Buyer beware!!

We decided on choicedek in beach house grey because it was advertised as low maintenance and that it is stain and mold resistance NOT TRUE! This deck had been the biggest disappointment within a year it developed black mold spots all over the entire deck I contacted the manufacturer and they told me what to use to clean it it took me two full back breaking days as it’s a very large deck and within months the spots came back It’s is now discontinued most likely because Lowe’s didn’t want to keep ...

So far so good. Sorry it's been discontinued.

I chose this decking because it is the same material all the way through, not "wrapped" with a very thin layer of wood grain finish on the top like many of the more expensive choices. All the people I know who have used the more expensive "wrapped" decking have all experienced major sun fading. This, even though many are guaranteed not to fade. I live in a hot dry climate in summer and very rainy winters. I did noticed the decking is somewhat porous while considering it. While it has stained fro...

Total junk and the customer service is even worse!

Deck hasn’t even been installed for 1 year yet and it’s faded horribly and certain boards faded worse than others... after spending that much money you would think it would have lasted longer than that! And when we called the company they were very rude and not helpful at all and it’s technically still under their one year warranty!! We sent pictures of the deck and the receipts!! Never again will I buy anything from them! Please save your money and don’t buy this GARBAGE!!!

Bad, Just Plain Old Bad

First I will say that I have been around home construction for many years and in many different ways. That alone qualifies me to understand how to rate products. It’s a very simple thing to rate a product. It either lives up to its billing or it doesn’t. In this case of rating ChoiceDek it falls well short of its billing. There is no reason why a company like Lowe’s should ever have pumped the tires on this stuff. I guess they saw the light because tonight when I walked around to the decking are...

Item as described

Out of stock in store due to change over in product brand but it was still available on Lowes.com Took 2 week to arrive at store. This board will definitely change color over time and I think that's why Lowes discontinued it.

Great value for new porch

Choicedek is a great value. The quality is on par with more expensive brands and has held up well over the years on past projects. It was a logical choice for a new project to rebuild old wood steps to add a bit of style and maintenance free expectations for years to come. I used hidden fasteners to complete the porch and it looks great. Here is the porch prepped in my workspace.

Clearance pricing splurge

Bought some of this to replace a small deck. They were on clearance for only $4 a board, which is half what 5/4 PT boards would have cost.

Affordable composite decking

I got this product for nearly the same price as pine. Couldn't be happier

Choicedek from Lowe's

First time user of composite decking

As a first time user I have no complaints pn quality, installation hardware or quality of the material. I used 56 boards in my deck project.

Great product

I used this product on my 11X36 deck with hidden fasteners. Easy to put down and looks great.
