This is a good budget charcoal grill. Using it as is is good. It doesn't leak too much. The grills are nice, and improve a lot with seasoning after purchase. Keep them inside if you're anywhere near water or they will rust even if seasoned. To upgrade mine i got a furnace gasket for the body and some high heat furnace cement to seal the chimney and any other odd areas that leaked. Has it's quarks like any other grill. Especially temperature hot/cold spots. I haven't gotten the smaller fire/gril...

Easy to use

I had this item put together and delivered. There were some deep scratches on the outside of the unit, but it did not affect the use. I did not make a complaint because I didn't feel it was that important. The scratch certainly did not affect my steak.

As previous buyers have stated Char-Grill really screwed this one up by design. there is no feasible way to use the grate hangers and close the lid. the grate hanger is either too small and not angled properly or the ash pan is too short so that the hanger has to reach further in.

Perfect size for a quick dinner and easy to clean.

Whether it's my family (a couple of racks) or a cookout for friends & family 4 to 6 racks), the Char-Griller grill handles it with no problem.

Great Grilling Machine

Heavy duty

As a lower shelf that you can store charcoal or use it to store anything I assembled in about 30 minutes I would definitely recommend this grill has plenty of room on the grill to put plenty of meat

Worth the higher price!

I'm obsessed with this grill! It was so easy to set up that my 12-year-old did it all by himself. Used it day one and it is easy to control the heat. It's also stupid easy to clean and I felt like a pit master even though I'm a newbie. My kids have big plans for this grill.

Design Defect — Ash Pan Too Small, Lid Won’t Close

I bought this model a few days ago and immediately noticed the ash pan is significantly shorter than it should be. Because of the shorter ash pan, the grate hangers cannot attach at the upper position without the handles pulling out, and the lid will not close properly when the ash pan is installed. I contacted Char-Griller customer support and sent photos. Their response was essentially: “That’s how it’s designed. Sorry you can't make it work."
