Extremely Disappointed – Poor Quality and Unacceptable Performance I am beyond frustrated with this GE Profile gas cooktop. I purchased it two years ago, and from day one it has been nothing but problems. The burners nobs started burning immediately. Now, after only two years — and very light use — one of the knobs is completely not working. This is unacceptable. I am not someone who cooks heavily every day. Control Knobs Melt

We purchased our cooktop a few years ago. Given the amount we paid for it, I am very disappointed in the quality of the control knobs. They are made of plastic. One melted with a year. Another has now melted. Buyer beware.

Poor design and melted control knobs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our home was built in 2020, we are the second owners who purchased the house in April 2024. I am so unsatisfied with this cooktop. The burners are too close to the control knobs so that when you cook with a large frying pan, the heat of the pan melts the plastic knobs. The wording on the panel has also worn off so that you can no longer wee the high/low labels. I would not purchase the Cafe series in the future if we decide to replace this cook...

Don't purchase this cooktop

We redid our kitchen with the full Café appliance set a couple of years ago, and honestly, we didn’t expect the cooktop knobs to start melting after just a few months. Definitely not what you hope for when you spend that much.

DO NOT BUY. ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!

Absolute garbage. DO NOT BUY! Having to replace mine after 3 years. These are designed not to cook on. Knobs broke (plastic), burners warped, Demarcations are non existent and "gas off" indicator light fell in . Total junk

ALMOST HAPPY

I love the cook top. burners are great and accommodate my deeds. Controls work well the electric start is a bit dodgy getting the flame to ignite. maybe my lack of experience? Looks very sturdy materials are good Size is fine for me and configuration is good. BUT WHY DIDN'T IT COME WITH A RUBBER SURROUND TO MATE IT TO THE COUNTER???

Five burner cafe’ signature love it

I have truly enjoyed it my new stove top. I have been ironing the stove top for years. I finally replace my GE profile that was installed doing my bill in 2006 now I have upgraded to this model five burner that I truly enjoy. Thanks GE for a great product.

Great Design

This is a perfect upgrade for my still functional 24 yr old GE 4 burner gas cooktop. This ‘Cafe’ model has as much cooking power as any professional cooktop for its size. And it looks high-end with its rugged cast iron grates, the variable size burners, lockout knob and the backside illuminated knobs. Nice touch GE ! Don’t listen to bad reviews regarding the knobs. Any conscientious cook would not slide a hot pan onto control knobs! If he or she had half a brain, they can find replacement knobs ...

Stained in a short time of use

I bought a some cafe appliances and loved them all except for this cooktop. It really hard to clean and stained easily. I’m not satisfied with the quality and I wish I had a choice to replace it.

Failed prematurely due to cheap control knobs

Beautiful cooktop, but the control knobs are plastic and failed on all burners. I epoxied a tight fitting piece of metal tubing on the replacements which lasted until the ultimate failure of the cooktop after 9 years of use.

Highly Impressed with My New Gas Cooktop!
