Beautiful flooring, but has quality control issues

“Challenging” is the best word I’d use to describe this product. The wood itself is beautiful, and my floors turned out fantastic. However, I only achieved that result because I spent a tremendous amount of extra time working around manufacturing defects. As others have mentioned, the quality control is inconsistent. Product was fine but customer service is dead

I just bought one box to make a kitchen countertop out of it. A few of the pieces were too short(less than 10") and some had some bad spots(one board even had a bad spot on the finished top). But when mixed with other boxes and used for a floor I imagine it's satisfactory. I did have some trouble getting it though. Online it said it was available but when we went in we couldn't find it, customer service in that area was busy on the phone and kept us waiting for nearly 5 minutes, and when we were...

Beautiful

OK, but not worth the price

The wood looks great out of the box, but you'll notice a handful every now and then that aren't the same width. We didn't notice this until after and there are several boards with gaps in them. I'm sure it will be fine when they are sanded and filled in the next decade, but the gaps are an eyesore. Be sure you put each plank in and look at the width before nailing it.

This flooring is very elegant. The country cut gives this flooring character.

Need better quality control

Quality control is definitely lacking from Bruce. Too many flawed, damaged and unusable planks.

Not a happy customer…

I am not happy with this flooring. The wood is not my favorite floor. And its was a return from a customer because a few was cut too .

Disappointed

We bought this floor for a total home remodel we were doing (3 rooms, hallway, stairs). We loved the color, the mellow grain, and the 5-inch pieces. Then the fun stopped. When we uncovered the floor after it had been protected while the contractors worked, a big splinter pulled out of one of the boards. The finish was also pulled up in a couple of dozen places, leaving raw wood spots all over the floor in 3 rooms. When we carefully viewed the boards, we discovered that about 10% are ripe for...

Zero Stars

we ordered 51 boxes. OMG thankfully the contractor started upstairs. We were shocked to see the floors, absolutley the worst. Sent pictures and called Lowes right away, Of course we can return the unused box but are stuck with the ones layed and labor costs. Thousands of dollars wasted

Lots of short pieces!

LOTS of short pieces. Divots in a lot of pieces with bare wood showing. Planer marks on a lot of planks. Lots of bark edges on the back side which would create squeaks in the floor if you didn't catch it when installing. This product may be ok if you want something more rustic looking, but not if you're looking for a perfect, smooth hardwood floor. The flooring is VERY hard, so be prepared for that when fastening.

Truly zero stars

Quality control fail at Lowe’s or Bruce. Or both. We ordered and waited the weeks for the woods to acclimate. Finally, our flooring professional tells us it’s time. After hours and hours of searching through 30+ boxes, he’s discovered there isn’t any such thing as quality control with this product. None of these pieces fit together properly.
