Darn trigger issue - again!

Just like many others mentioned the trigger is such a big issue! I have loved using this for the past 2 1/2 years and have recommended it to so many people. It's lightweight, easy to use, and love the fact that it uses a battery and not gas or electric. I have several other B & D products that take rechargeable batteries so I've got about 6 batteries always at my disposal to utilize. My problem is that it just wouldn't turn on anymore. Poor battery life

This trimmer works well at both speeds for trimming grass. However the battery life is horrible. I barely get 15 minutes per battery; it came with two. Recharging takes several hours so I cannot reuse them the same day. I have tried to find a longer lasting battery for this unit but have not been able to do so. For this reason, I am disappointed in this purchase.

Got old inventory and bad batteries.

My mother likes these trimmers for light weight and ergonomic design. Unfortunately, the timmer package must have sat in inventory for years. Both included batteries were dead flat and would not charge. I raised the voltage enough to get them charging and they charged but one still gives errors and the other is maybe half capacity. She is using her old batteries. I did not try to return or ask for any remedy.

Good value, nice product.

Have this in an older B&D model so this was an upgrade. Lightweight and plenty of power, having 2 batteries is great and love the "training wheel" for edgeing.

Good idea, poor execution

I’ve had toys that are better made than this tool. The plastic “trigger” mechanism wears down until it no longer makes contact with the tiny little button it needs to activate in order for the trimmer to work. This was a good idea in terms of functionality- like the ability to switch to edging. But for the money, the trigger - the most important part - shouldn’t wear down so easily. Listen to low ratings and don't buy this model!

The overall ordering and pickup at Lowes was fine. When item was picked up, the tool was broken. Was able to return for refund, employee stated that they don't do exchanges and that people who bought this same product have been returning in droves. I bought the same model about 5 years ago and it worked fine until this year. I would stay away from the model going forward.

Works Great!

Great trimmer, bad trigger over the years of use.

Loved the trimmer for years, so I have an older model. I did by replacement batteries online during this period & helped with the run time with more amps. I found as someone else did the trigger has issues & stopped fully engaging. Had to wiggle, etc. Intermittent. My husband took it apart and sanded down the inside plastic many times to get it to re-engage. It think it's a design flaw. It might be the last time he is going to adjust it. Its the only way it is still working.

Disappointed

I do not recommend this one because it takes hours to charge the battery, then you better hurry because you have 15 mins before it goes dead again !

Great Trimmer

This Trimmer is the best thing to use it's lightweight and ready to use right out of the box. It works great and even cuts higher grass.

Had mine around 5-6 years now. Always worked great. My 2 battery are about shot now. 1 lasting about 10 min. Now and 2 about 5 min now. Either buying new weed eater or just 2 battery’s. Was very satisfied with mine

Love the trimmer for the most part Get the trigger problem fixed and it's a home run!

Light weight and dependable!

Just love this weed eater! I have a sidewalk in front of my house that needed to be edged and it worked great. Around the house and along the fence it did a malvelous job. I love that it only has one string, I had another model that had two strings and I went through too many spools for one season.

Power button issues

power button stopped working after about 1 year, confirmed battery battery is charged

Great fit

Lighter weight, powerful battery, shorter shaft makes for very comfortable trimming experience. I'm only 5'4" tall and this trimmer saves a lot of strain on my arms and shoulderd.

I received my String Trimmer/Edger when I needed it . It did not take too long. The item came in in great shape with the 3 rolls of string and 2 batteries. I immediately got to work in order to try it out. It was very light and quiet. I love my String Trimmer. Thanks Black & Decker.
