Disappointed

I've had this product for over a month and just used it for the 3rd time. My biggest complaint is the battery life. My yard is small and I can't get through the whole yard in one charge. It only lasts 20-25 minutes. I have also had problems with the string feeding properly. I have owned a Craftsman weed eater before, and did not have these problems.

Cuts grass nicely, edges ok, battery needs work

Got this because of the price. It’s a decent weed eater cutting wise. For edging it does ok work but has trouble with thick batches. The battery I am rather disappointed with. It runs for 20-25 minutes then takes over 3 hours to recharge. I’ve never had the line jam up, it feeds nicely and the guard has a sharp edge to cut eccess line with. I’m happy with the cutting performance but the battery life is making me consider swapping this out for a Craftsman so all my cordless tools run on the same...

Not a great product

Automatic spool feed has been non-existent since I purchased this model. I have to feed line by hand which is a real pain. Battery life could be better and charging time is too long.

Piece of junk

The string never advances and just breaks off. Today while using it as I have for the past year, the entire cap assembly disintegrated and sent pieces flying everywhere. Never again, Black and Decker

Very basic

Very nice that it is battery operated vs many many extension cords. The battery has a good charge. The edger itself does not go very deep, does not got through crabgrass well, and the auto cord extractor (?) is terrible. The cord breaks easily and the auto cord replacer (vs older model) is poor. Very weak battery use

I had a Lowe's gift card so I purchased this about-to-be-discontinued trimmer at Lowe's for a very low price. I now know why they are discontinuing it! I have a small patch of grass on my patio (about 16 feet almost square) and the battery almost died nearing the end of the trimming/mowing that small space. If you have any area larger than that, be prepared to stop in the middle and recharge the battery for a few hours before you can continue.

The line is too short with the guard attached so I had to remove it to get more line or it only does about 3 inches of weed trimming.

Small but perfect for clearing around sprinkler heads.

Very poor performance, self feed continually jams. Cap is very difficult to remove. I am still using the spool that came with the tool. Some times I can go as far as 4 ft before I have to stop, take it apart, rewind the line. The go another 2 or 3 ft and do it over.

Does the job. I like the price and that it’s cordless.

Solid, simple, low cost

This item doesn't have the "extras" of the pricier b&d weed whackers (12" size, variable speed, etc.), but it's a simple to use product that can use any existing b&d batteries, spools, etc. For us it's a definite win, as all we use it for is standard weed whacking, and its single speed is equivalent to the higher power setting on other models. Solid trimmer

This is a good light duty trimmer for small to medium sized yards. does the job well. This trimmer replaced a similar B&D model that had served me faithfully for 10 years.

Positive review of the B & D 20V String Trimmer

I bought this trimmer a few days ago. It is a durable and lightweight trimmer. To my amazement, after I settled and calmed down, it was so easy to operate. I was getting a bit frustrated with the directions until I realized many of them didn't pertain to my trimmer. That's when I sat everything aside, then had it ready to put to work within 30 minutes. I was so excited at the ease of working it that I almost went through the entire yard before stopping. I am so glad I made this purchase.

Deeply satisfied

First trimmer, first time using one, first time trying to do some basic gardening. It's rain season. Grass grows like mad.
