What Customers Are Saying

The carpenter bee trap appears to be an effective solution for controlling carpenter bee infestations, though its success may depend on proper placement and patience. Many users reported catching multiple bees within days, especially when the trap was placed near existing holes or areas of high bee activity. However, some found the trap ineffective, with bees ignoring it or escaping after being caught. Key factors for success include positioning the trap near known entry points, plugging existing holes, leaving dead bees inside, and being patient as it may take time for the bees to enter the trap. Overall, the majority of reviewers found this to be a useful, chemical-free solution for managing the pests, though a small number felt it was ineffective.

Takes a little time, but then works really well

I was skeptical about this working but my husband bought it to try after a more expensive sticky trap thing didn't catch anything after several weeks. He put this be trap up and it sat there empty for about a week. Then, within just a few days time frame, husband counted well over 20+ bees in there! Once you can get one in, it invites all its friends in for a party, apparently. I plan to buy another one.

Worthless

Would Not Recommend

Carpenter bee flew all around this trap, but totally ignored it. As suggested, I caught and put a few bee into it, 2 dead and one alive. It didn't help. This was a total waste of money.

Hung it up and within the day I had a carpenter bee in it and then after 5 days I had 3. I am building a new deck and they were hovering to much for my liking.

Really good trap

Would Recommend

Within a day or 2 after I hung 3 of these traps in different locations on my fence, there must have been about 20 carpenter bees trapped. I leave the dead bees in, they seem to attract the other bees to the traps. That's 20 or so less bees burrowing into my fence or house. Worth the investment.

expensive but effective

$20 for a block of wood and a plastic box is a bit much. Yet they are effective. they have been up for 3 days, and there are several in each trap. Seem to be a haven for the bees just before and during a heavy rain storm.

It works!

I have used this product for the last two years to control the carpenter beetles that are in our area. After using it last season, I noticed that there was no additional damage to my wood fencing. This year I installed another due to the infestation in the woods behind my home and the untreated wooden fences surrounding a public utility compound. So far, after 3 days, it has caught 3 more beetles. It does not attract honeybees.
