Ratings & Reviews for Backyard Discovery Trenton 12-ft W x 14-ft L x 7-ft 6-in H Black Metal Freestanding Pergola with Canopy

Beautiful, sturdy, and high quality

Pergola is amazing! Loving it so far. Took 4 people about 6 hours to build ourselves with little building experience - all instructions made sense and the pieces being labeled upon delivery was so helpful. Only one piece slightly damaged through delivery, but everything was perfect other than that. Would definitely recommend! Excited to use it!

Very impressive structure

We just erected the pergola and it’s very nice- the the finish and scale are great! Not too hard to assemble however the tarp is disappointing - as the shorter sides have no way to not sag horribly and should have tie backs that allow it to stretch fully. Lastly, the 16’ metal joists/headers do sag also I guess due to the 3 pieces connected over such a long span but despite these factors it’s a very nice build!

Great customer service

We bought the Trenton pergola for our back patio and are very pleased with the purchase. Our two sons-in-law assembled in roughly six hours. On the first day everything went well, until we discovered that one part was mislabeled, meaning we were short one necessary piece for the assembly; a call to customer service resolved the matter quickly, with the needed part being sent the next day. The next weekend the assembly resumed. The finished pergola is very sturdy and looks great. We are very ...

Beautiful design and awesome features

We bought three of these pergolas last year and they did not fail to impress. They have a modern look, provide excellent shade, are extremely sturdy, and have awesome features. The removable tarp is a plus as we leave it off in spring and fall and it provides necessary shade during the heat of the summer. We installed them ourselves and by the third one, we had it up in no time.

Easy and Modern

We love this pergola! It's beautiful and looks like a custom build. Shipping and delivery was a breeze.

Beautiful pergola

We bought this last month and love it. It took us about 6 hours to put it together. But we'll worth the time. Its very sturdy and beautiful. Wonderful shade pergola . The price was worth it for such a great product. I would recommend this to anyone.

Awesome Pergola !

We purchased this Trenton 16' x 12' Pergola to modernize our outdoor living space, It sure does not disappoint! We absolutely love this Pergola! We add curtain rods on (1) 16' side for sun protection and also, for privacy (not shown in pictures). We have fallen in love with our backyard once again. Thank You, Backyard Discovery !

Returned

We decided to return the item … not because of the item but our own decision not to have a pergola.

Outstanding Addition to any backyard!

My 14X12 Backyard Discovery Trenton Modern Steel Pergola with Sail Shade is nothing less than OUTSTANDING! One of the main selling points for me was the material the pergola is made of and the easy assembly process. My son and I put this pergola together over the weekend due to the straightforward instructions which are simple to follow. The pergola's sturdy steel frame is what I have been looking for for months! This pergola can withstand strong winds and inclement weather year-round. My f...

Love this Pergola!

We purchased this pergola for our upstairs patio. Living in Arizona, we needed something to keep us cool in the summer. It is built so well and looks fantastic!

Beautiful pergola

I love this pergola in our backyard, it looks great. I'd recommend this to anyone after a modern-looking backyard solution. Building this myself was relatively easy. The initial shipping had a few damaged pieces, but those were replaced quickly and without hassle. One thing I'd love this to have that it doesn't seem to is some sort of option for a removeable shade wall to cover one of the sides. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Impressive!

We've had our pergola for almost a year now and we love it! We get compliments on it all the time. It's a real showstopper when you're walking by. The quality is great. Highly recommend!

Great product!

So happy I bought this product. It fit perfectly with my house it’s as if is was custom made for my house. My neighbors are asking me where did find it!

Worth it!

I wanted shade for our kids on the south facing deck. This pergola fit just right and meets our needs to the T. We had weighed out the sun shade sails, pergola, awning and other options for shade and we ended up choosing this due to the modern look. My husband was hesitant at first but now even he loves it. I love that you can take the sun shade on or off. I love the shade it provides and the sleek modern look! It def takes time to put together but if you get a good assembly line going it goes ...

Great looking pergola (excpt the sail shade strap)

I bought this a few months ago and love the look and quality of the pergola. But I hate the straps on the soft canopy.. it keeps coming off due to winds.

Perfect fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was perfect for our backyard! Fits the modern feel we are going for and fits perfectly over our jacuzzi!

Height issue but still great.

Only reason why I shorted it a star is because of the height. It needs to be another foot taller. Ours wouldn’t clear our hot tub lid. So I had to improvise and put it up on blocks and anchor and then put landscaping bricks around each pillar a ways up just to make it look good. That was the only difference between the 4 star and 5 star. Other wise this is great quality. Great build. Looks amazing.
