What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the ease of installation and rapid heating performance, with most completing setup themselves in under an hour using clear instructions. Hot water arrives within minutes, often within 30 minutes of installation, with many noting consistent capacity without running out. Reviewers frequently cite the brand's reputation for durability, with previous units lasting 9 to 20 years, driving strong confidence in long-term reliability. A small number report cosmetic dents upon arrival or rare early heating element failures, but these isolated issues do not diminish the overwhelming majority's satisfaction and recommendation.

Garbage
Would Not RecommendLooks nice when you open the box but that’s about the only thing it can do since it doesn’t heat my water. It was installed at my camp two hours away so I didn’t have the serial number, AO Smith won’t talk to me or send a technician out unless I have it. So make sure you have that serial number! I will be returning this product.

Advanced tank guard protection; 6 yr. warranty
Would RecommendA beautiful Sunday late afternoon, I was in the garage and noticed water on the floor. Tracing the water led me to the old water heater. I called our plumber who asked me to purchase a water heater, he'd come pick it up and install it. I chose the AO Smith Signature 100, 40 gallon electric with tank guard and a six year limmited warranty on parts with a one year limited warranty on labor. The price was right and the reputation of AO Smith sealed the deal.

Good price & easy installation!
Would RecommendWonderful price!! Easy installation... And an hour later I was running my dishwasher with HOT water!!! An hour after that, I took a nice long shower!!! (I didn't bother to check how long it took to recover in the beginning or between uses because I was doing other things.) Very happy with Lowes!

Heater
I bought this heater a few weeks ago and happy with it. It has 5 gallons more than my previous one and much easier to install and operate. All and all, I highly recommend it

Dent When Picked Up
Would Not RecommendDent on the side and when not nephew questioned during pick up he was told it would not hurt the product and it was fine. When you pay that much money for a new water heater, you would prefer that it not be damaged. No effort was made to make it right by the store. A lot of money to pay and received damage products.

Cheaply made water heater. Uses plastic for faucet drain rather than brass. Not a good idea at all

Water heater is fine.
Would RecommendLowe’s delivery system leaves a lot to be desired. My time to be delivered was moved a whole day from the original date, and then was also delayed twice that day. Almost 48 hours later than what it was supposed to be. Zero explanations. Much like every other big corporation, I guess once they get the money you are no longer the priority.
