It’s very heavy , but replaced heater under stair well perfectly. About $350.00 cheaper than plumbing supply house so win win.

It hasn't been a week since I installed the water heater, ( the reason I only gave a four star rating). I have installed several A.O. Smith water heaters with no issues, and I'm confident this one will be no different. I could have bought a cheaper brand, but I wanted a name I've used before and trust. If a problem occurs I will update my review.

I needed a low profile water heater for a crawl space. Lowe’s was the only big box store to carry it out of the top three contenders. Worked with customer service to get the no interest for twelve months. Work out great in an otherwise stressful situation replacing the water heater on very short notice.

Easy to install

I bought the water heater during January 2026, when they were on sale because my old water heater was almost 20 years old and I have purchased AO Smith water heaters in the past. I was able to install it myself without any difficulty

Great Shorty Unit for a Crawlspace

This unit was the perfect size for a 4-foot-high crawlspace. Easy installation by our plumber and it heated the water pretty fast. So far, loving this unit.

Just installed today 4/4/26

I installed this in my crawl space and the 48 gal lowboy fits just right. With room to install the Eastman tee and Expansion 2 gal tank. My water supply is 30/50 pressure well, using a 44 gal well tank. Yes, I had hot water in 1 hour. Hope this helps if needed?

Great Upgrade!

Bought this water heater about three weeks ago upgrading the unit in my home and this thing gets toasty! My original water heater was adjusted to 140°, so I installed this one at the same temperature but had to turn it back down to the default setting of 120°. Very satisfied with this unit.

Lasted 13 years

This is a replacement for the exact model we currently have. Our first tank lasted 13 years. I believe if we had maintained it better, it may have lasted longer. I dropped 1 star because we picked up the new tank and it was damaged. Brought the 2nd tank home and it is damaged as well (dented on bottom of tank and top near the lid 😣 🤷‍♀️
