Transmission bearing goes out

My washer is about 5 years old and it sounds like it has bad bearings already - the spin cycle is now very loud. Also had to change capacitor. When I spin the drum manually it sounds like shot bearings, while spinning at full speed the thing sounds like a plane taking off in the house. New transmission costs hundreds of dollars. Poor seal design allows water to get into bearings and cause them to fail

Junk

Worst washing machine i have ever owned! This piece of junk has squealed and screeched since we bought it. It is less than 2 years old and now it needs a new belt, drive fully AND motor because the pulley on the motor is not serviceable by its self.

Less than ideal

About a year in and needs repair. Was spotty throughout the first year with cycles not completing and needing to be power cycled. Would often shut off while selecting different modes. Now control board error right past warranty date.

Bad design leads to suspension rod failure

We got this for our brand new house two years ago and it’s already had to be repaired twice. Last time in January it was the suspension rods. They are already failing and having same issue again. I think it just must be poorly designed for this to be reoccurring.

Great washing machine

Awful

I bought the washer and dryer because at the time it had great reviews. Three years I have gone through not being able to wash my bedding. Forget washing anything heavy in them. The washer just says rebalance, then adds more and more water, then says rebalance again. Takes forever to do anything heavy. The dryer doesn't dry anything bulky all the way. I always have to put my blankets and comforters on the my bed with the fan on to dry it. I would not buy this product again.

Worst machine we ever owned

Had to have it repaired 4 times waterpump,inlet valves, hood lock,control board. Worst machine on the market buyer beware

Great features

Worst Appliance Ever

Purchasing this machine has been the first experience I’ve ever had with an appliance. Within a year, it needed to be serviced. Now three years in, I’ve had to get it serviced 7 times. The electronics are faulty, seems to be a common problem. The wiring harness snaps and the drain doesn’t work, happened several times. The control board fails after just a year, numerous complaints of this issue. STAY AWAY!!!

Terrible washing machine., don't buy.

I bought this about a year ago, and it is hands down the worst washing machine that I have ever purchased. I have been a happy Whirlpool customer for many, many years and am disappointed by this design. Clothes get tangled up and often have dry patches on the clothes after a complete wash. I have set the water level set to as high as a cycle will allow, and pre-soak set for 30 minutes, and make sure that the tub is never more than half full. I have had two service calls in the year.

Don’t waste your money!

Worst washer I have ever owned. Of course when the warranty ran out It makes this metal grinding noise when it hits the spin cycle. No matter how I load it it always thumps like it’s not balanced. Save your money

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Do not buy!!!!! I bought this washer and matching dryer set less than three years ago. I had to have my first service repair within six months of owning the washing machine. They replaced the part, and it’s been incredibly loud since replacing it. Now it’s totally unusable. Again not even three years in. This is unacceptable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a very old washer that finally wore out. When I brought my new washer, I was pleased to find that it uses less water, runs much quieter, and my clothes I come out cleaner. Also, I have better choices on how to wash my clothes.

Good machine but noisy

Do NOT buy!

I bought the washer and dryer set. Within the 1st 2 months, the digital screen on the dryer got "lines" going through it, so it's hard to read what you are putting the settings on. The washer's suspension just gave out yesterday, and now I can't even use the machine to wash clothes. These systems are only 3 years old. They are both a piece of junk! I would NOT recommend anyone to buy either the washer or dryer!

Average Washer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a replace replacement washer for another Whirlpool similiar that lasted only 4 years. The only reason I replaced with another Whirlpool was price and to match current dryer.

Horrible
