This microwave was not up to the standard of other Whirlpool products. After a year, I started having trouble getting the door to open. When I called Whirlpool they said it couldn't be fixed. The light has also gone out. I purchased it 0n 1-25-2025 and had it installed as a built in to replace a GE. The total cost iwth trim & installation was $816.77 and now I have to replace it.

Easy to operate!

Not Safe with young children.

While the have a 2-step 'safety' unlock feature, they left out the standard child safety lock. So my child may not be able to open when i am cooking, but they can open it when it is not in use, throw forks inside and and create a big problem. This is a gross oversight.

Learning Curve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main complaint is the child “stop” mechanism before the door will open (I have disabled it). The door wouldn’t open without lifting the door (with a dinner knife) a 16th of an inch by the 2nd month of use. It did take twice of disabling the lock button for it to remain off.

Whirlpool Microwave Stands the Test of Time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to replace our 26 year old Whirlpool microwave before it failed and chose the larger 2.2 cu. Ft one. It’s just great, big enough to do anything we can imagine for heating or cooking.Whirlpool has always been our preferred appliance brand , they last for years and the performance is second to none.

I like the 1234 minute, etc.

Great Option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to setup and use. If you have a built in be sure to purchase the trim kit with it. The trim kits are not universal.

In cabinet microwave

New unlock before open is no good

Love my Whirlpool

Crappy door latch

Worked well until door latch broke the day before Thanksgiving. New home install. Not sure actual warranty period, but anyone forgetting the 2-step door opening sequence, pushing on the latch, seems to gradually weaken and break the mechanism!

Good microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this when my previous microwave broke. This is same size (able to handle bigger plates and casserole dishes) and power (heats quickly). It is easy to operate and looks good although with almost all black glass fingerprints do stand out.

Complicated without numbers on the keypad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 3 months ago. The size is nice and big. Looks very nice. The door opener does not work most of the time, it needs improvement in design. It’s complicated to use without numbers on the keypad. I really like the sensor cooking.
