Would RecommendWe've owned three or four previous corn poppers. This one is the best ever. It pops quickly and consistently leaves few unpopped kernals.

Poor quality in new product
I bought this machine after a great ten year love affair with the same model. However, the new one had issues. The red lid never did fit on the bottom of the bowl. After one year of use, the entire center of the popper fell out and I had oil all over the kitchen floor and counter. Since it was just over a year old, the warranty was void. I see this type of experience consistently in the reviews - previous versions were much much better quality. Somewhere along the line, West Bend cut corners in ...

I loved this popcorn popper for the 1st 3 months I had it. It nows Burns the kernels before they pop. Wont even pop all the kernels.

best one so far
Would RecommendThis is my third stir crazy, popcorn maker and the best I've had so far my best I mean it cooks the popcorn more fully than the other two did. I guess the heating element might be a little bit harder on this one. One small flaw although it's not a problem. The plastic lid on the bowl is a little bit hard to get to grip.

Absolute favorite popper!
Would RecommendBest popcorn popper ever! So glad updated model is now available! My original is still going strong after decades of use! But I’m so glad I can get a new one now! Love it!

No pop
Would Not RecommendI received this as a gift few months ago & it worked great.... until last week. It no longer heats up so obviously Popcorn does not pop! I'm very disappointed.

What a shame!
For the short time it lasted, we considered it's popcorn making performance adequate, but not spectacular. Trust all of the other reviews with the repetitive theme of "poorly made," "poor quality," "unit failure," etc. What a shame because I loved the 1980's version of this popcorn maker.

Great Popcorn Popper
Would RecommendI got this on Wednesday. I love using it. I didn't know you can put the bowl in the dishwasher.

Great popcorn maker, 9/10.
Would RecommendSo I had a really old school stir crazy. It lasted forever, but the screw top stripped. I’ve been got the newest model as a gift and I noticed that they definitely made that screwtop more robust. If you’re stripping it, it’s because you’re way over, tightening it. it’s a lot of these reviews it’s simply a skill issue. The only reason I’m giving it a nine out of 10 is because whoever designed the cord wrap at the bottom, didn’t quite judge the length correctly to where you have to seat the plug ...

Not what it used to be.
Would Not RecommendHad several of these before I purchased this new model. DO NOT like it!! Leaves way too many kernels unpopped. Not happy with it at all. Bring back to the old model and I'll buy another. If not, I will go a different route when this one dies.

Great deal for popcorn lovers
Would RecommendI’ve had mine for years. Maybe 10+. Works every time. Put in the right amount of oil and corn and walk away for a few minutes.

Yummy popcorn
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted this popper to have a more natural taste than microwave popcorn. It does taste better. It comes in a few different colors. The lid can be used as a bowl. You can add your salt to the oil before popping and it will taste good. You can melt butter on top. The stirrer is for the kernels for better popping, hardly any kernels not popped.

As magical as I remember...
Would RecommendI have fond memories of this popper from a childhood past so I bought it for my 9-yr old and I. Works great and cooks better than I can recreate with a pan. The red steam lid could be improved as it doesn't stay on so well and the idea of using the plastic lid as a butter dispenser is difficult if not impractical. Overall I give it reasonably high marks.

Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendItem has been used 8 times over 17 months. NEver melted butter in it. Always transferred popcorn to another bowl after popping. Let cooled before I washed it. No children in house to damage. And still the cover broke in two places. And West Bend doesn't sell replacements. Waste of $40. We had one in the 70's and it cracked the same way. Nothing has improved on this product.

Love it
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new popcorn maker. It’s very easy to set up and use. The children enjoyed helping me pop the kernels and the clean up is very quick and easy. I wouldn’t recommend these to my friends with small kids for a movie night or a quick snack
