A great dimmable replacement for incandescents

Would Recommend

I've had a hard time finding good LED bulbs that adequately replace my old incandescents. So many of them hum or buzz or aren't dimmable, and the ones that are dimmable often have an odd dimming range (e.g., once you dim down below 20%, the bulb will strobe or turn off completely, so you can't get a proper low light level) These bulbs are the best I've found yet for my needs. They have a full dim range, and though I've found that some (but not all) of the bulbs buzz, at least in these it's so q...

Better than incandescent

Would Recommend

I purchased this to replace an incandescent ceiling bulb that burned out. I had tried the natural daylight bulbs in other applications and did not care for the color at all. It was an eerie greenish-blue light that to me did not represent "daylight." I was hesitant to try another led. I was pleasantly surprised by this bulb. To me it appears more natural. It lights up the hallway well. No dark spots.

Great bulb so far

Would Recommend

I bought two of these in February 2014 and have been using them for three months on a Lutron Maestro dimmer switch and, so far, they've been working fantastic. The light output and light temperature are great. Before LED's were available / affordable I've tried every dimmable CFL bulb I could get my hands on and none of them worked well - they either blinked when dimmed, shut off at the halfway point in the dimmer switch, made buzzing sounds, or had other weird issues. These LED bulbs dim exactl...

Utilitech LED Lights

Would Not Recommend

I purchased 3 Utilittech lights similar to this one a little over 2 years ago (warranty is 2 years). I could not find the exact shape of the bulb on Lowe's web site, but the wattage and lumins are the same as this one. In the past month, one of the lamps starts to flicker after it is on for 30 minutes to an hour. A second light has started to dim, not nearly a bright as the remaining third light which seems to still be working well. Utlitech package states life of 7 years with normal use, and m...

Only one drawback

Would Recommend

These lightbulbs are great with only one drawback...they cannot be used with motion sensing wall switches because the light will not completely turn off. At first we thought it was the motion sensor switch (that it needed to be updated to accommodate the newer LED technology), but after trying a different LED bulb manufactured by another big box store, we found the bulb was the problem, not the switch. However, even though these bulbs are not good for motion sensing switches, they are great ever...

Nice upgrade

Would Recommend

I wantd to switch out my 60 watt bulbs (incandescent). These are a definite improvement. I switched one room, then went back and replaced all of the other ones. I just hope they help my electric bill! I dropped one and it didn't break.

this is good bulb

This led bulb is the only bulb i think that displays a warm white like a incandescent most accurately. other leds and cfls look like your standing under a flurecent shop light.

Nice bulbs!

Would Recommend

We bought some of these bulbs for our ceiling fans. They are a little pricey, but if they last as it is promised it is still a value buy. I don't expect more than the warranty period though. So if they last for 3 years or I can exchange broken bulbs at our local Lowes that would be fine. The lights are dimmable and they do not make humming noises. They are a little brighter than a 60 watts CFL we have. We have 3 bulbs in one light kit below our ceiling fans. If they are very dim they flicker a ...

Great way to save money but don't think I will last 23 more years to recover the full savings. The light out put is better then then the 60watt bulbs I replaced.

Using as Bulb in Bathroom Exhaust Fan Light

Would Recommend

I installed this bulb in our bathroom exhaust fan assembly to replace the incandescent bulb. I'm hoping since this is an LED bulb it's less susceptible to vibration and failure. My experience over the years shows very limited life of incandescent bulbs in these vibration applications. I'm tired of replacing bulbs in this bathroom light. The bulb is bright and so far its been working fine for 1 week. They say it will last 22.83 years .... so 22.82 years are left and I'm counting down. Price of $1...

Perfect for our bulb-eating chandelier.

Would Recommend

This bulb runs so cool that it is the ONLY bulb (vs dimmable incandescent and CFL) that has lasted more than two months in our chandelier. Ours has 8 15 watt candelabra bulbs on top, and a single standard bulb in a bell-shaped cover facing downward below. It is on a dimmer switch. This design is greatly flawed because the metal bell actually captures every bit of heat released by a bulb, killing off any and all bulbs extremely fast. I am not kidding - we were going through bulbs every one to two...

Great bulb, wish it was cheaper

Would Recommend

I have been using this bulb for about a week, and so far I am quite happy with it. I am very particular about the quality and color temperature of the lights that I buy, and have recently been purchasing Reveal 2500K CFLs. I gave this LED a try, even though it's a cooler 3000K, due to the energy savings, increased life, and decreased heat output versus the CFL bulbs. So far, I am not disappointed. The color is not far off from the Reveal bulbs, and very pleasing to the eye. They are cool to the ...

Excellent bright light, 3000K as labeled

Would Recommend

This bulb is a good choice for a reading light. The color temperature is rated at 3000K, which seems about right - slightly whiter/cooler than the usual 2700K from incandescents or similarly rated LEDs and CFLs. I am using the 60W equivalent version in a bedside lamp where I wanted a bright white light for reading. It is exactly what I expected - a nice, bright white light. Despite the slightly higher temperature rating, this 3000K bulb blends well with the 2700 K bulbs in the room - a bit less ...

Best solution to the incandescent

Would Recommend

I love these bulbs because they put out an immediate and reliable light. I also don't freak out if they happen to be left on because they burn less electricity. They say you will save the cost of the light bulb and then some over the life of owning the product, but the proof will be in the pudding. Still a little costly, but the best solution to the disappearing incandescent.

Better Than Expected...

Would Recommend

Slowly trading out CFLs and Halogens with LEDs in an effort to be more efficient. So far, this bulb works much better than expected. Although the "warm white" seems a bit on the "cool white" side, it lights instantly (CFLs tend to need a few moments to brighten), light distribution seems very similar to a typical bulb, it doesn't get hot and it's definitely energy efficient (<10 watts compared to 13 watt CFL or 60 watt halogen of comparable brightness). The only drawback is the price. Despite mo...

Great value LED bulb.

Would Recommend

While I would like to see LED bulbs me much more affordable, these are a pretty descent value as far as LED bulbs go. Since the price was lowered I bought 10 bulbs. My goal is to replace as many bulbs as I can throughout my house. I am starting with the most used areas that have the most light used. While the chandelier bulbs and speciality bulbs are still too expensive, this is a good value at $10 and will work in most lamps, light fixtures, etc. I find the light to be brighter than the curren...

It's a light bulb

Would Recommend

I really like the white light output. I put them in the ceiling fixture in the kitchen (4 lamps) which stays on most of the day. Only time will tell about the durability of the lamp but the reduction in current is a good thing. Kind of pricey but hopefully the price will go down as demand and competition increases. I would like to buy bulbs made in the USA but I haven't been able to find any.
