Two Years Old Overheating

Great fan first year, end of second year it's shutting off due to overheating. There are NO vents on the motor casing to allow air to flow thru the motor housing. The fan turns easily, not a bearing issue. The motor casing gets too hot to touch! Could be internal component failure allowing too much current for the motor to dissipate while running. Don't buy this one, looks durable but it's not. This fan is used on covered patio in the shade. Maybe indoors it would last longer. I wouldn't recomm...

Very powerful fan

Bought one of the last ones available at my local store. I rolled the dice and bought the one with least amount of damage to the box. Got it home and the plastic nobs to lock the fan position were broken and one of the self tapper screws holding the protective screen was snapped off... Not a deal breaker but it would be nice if the products where handled better by the store staff or the transport company. This fan is amazingly powerful even in its lowest setting. Best well built!

It is extremely well built. All steel & easy speed control. My only dislike is that it is loud even at it’s lowest speed. Cleaning it is easy😊

It will not stay long

We bought two of this product. In the beginning it run smoothly. After a year or so both fans acting weird. Blades won’t turn, have to use a comb to manually turn the blades in order to work. After that issues the fan has finally stopped it will not turn by it self. Don’t waste your money buying this fan.

Damaged boxes at delivery

The shipping box was damaged and the fan box itself damaged. Both taped up. The grill on fan a little bent. The fan seems to work fine. Very disaapointed in product handling and shipping by FedEx. Was not a cheap purchase.

We Love the Fan, But....

After only a few weeks the pull chain for speed control broke. We returned the fan to Lowe's for credit and ordered another one. We hope this one performs better. We love the style, function, and air volume.

Good at drying large areas, too powerful for patio

It is very powerful at all three settings. It would be good for job sites, less so for daily home use. I was hoping for an outdoor patio fan, which this is not.

Dead on opening

A/C went out and I needed a good fan. $150 later and I have this paperweight.. Motor heated up and hummed a little. That's it. Piece of crap. DON'T BUY!

Utilitech Chrome floor fan

It's an awesome floor fan well made and it is very easy to put together it only took me 15-20 minutes to assemble it, It does require 2 tools for assembly 1.Phillips screw driver & a scissor to cut the plastic twist tie's which prevents the fan parts from moving around during shipping. 2. plier's for tightening the bolt to the fan motor's bracket. squealing 6 months in. Get Your ear plugs ready!

Fantastic for the first six months. Then one night while you are sleeping get ready to have a heart attack when those bearing start to go out. Read all the other 1 star reviews. Don't buy. No way to lube up bearings with a closed motor system. I gave it 5 stars hoping to get the message to folks to read the one stars first.
