What Customers Are Saying

The electric snowblower performs well in light to moderate snowfall, efficiently clearing driveways and walkways. Customers praise its lightweight and easy-to-use design, as well as its ability to throw snow a good distance and its quiet operation. However, some report issues with durability, with the snowblower stopping working after a year or two. It also struggles with heavy, wet snow or deep drifts. While generally satisfactory, the product's limitations in heavy snow conditions and potential reliability issues are important considerations.

Great Product That Lasts and Works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the precursor to this model, the 13 amp Toro Power Curve in 11/2006, and it's still going strong. Just cleared a 10"dump from walls and driveway, and it saved my back again. Is it perfect, no. But it was the best money spent in my yard tool arsenal. I highly recommend. It even will tackle the plow slop at the end of the driveway, if you take it in small chunks. Throws snow far, and is easy to use. The new versions have a bigger motor (...

No replacement for defective unit

Would Not Recommend

Lowes would not accept the return of a defective unit after 30 days, so I returned it to a Toro dealer. I was told that I would receive a replacement in two to three weeks. Now - seven weeks and seven snow storms later. . . nothing. The unit never worked and Toro is not honoring their two year warrantee. Maybe I received a lemon. But Toro customer service is worthless. Buy from another company.

An incredible machine.

I bought my 1800 in 1995. I have used it in all kinds of snow. It has never failed to work. I give it a shot of WD40 once in a while and other than that it hangs on the wall waiting for the next snowfall. This is by far the best value of any implement I have purchased as a homeowner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only used it once so far, but plug in and use - very light and did the job.

Failed after 15 minutes - no Lowe's return

Would Not Recommend

I ordered this in advance of snow season and tested it when it arrived. Six week later, our first snow storm. Unit operated as promised for 15 minutes and then turned off. I tested interlock button, control bar, cable and power. Unable to restart. Lowe refuses to provide any service or return after 30 days.

Stopped working after a few uses

Only used a couple times last year. Used it once this year. It worked great. Then it wouldn't start. No power at all. Left sit in heated garage overnight. Still won't start in the morning. It's an old model that I hadn't used for several years, so basically it's new old stock. It looks brand new. I probably used it for 2-3 hours, tops between last year and this year and didn't use it on snow over 3 inches deep.

Already died

I bought this snowblower a month ago. I didn't want to mess with a gas engine and carburetor anymore. I made it thru one medium heavy snow, but towards the end I noticed an electrical smell. The outlet was fine, and the cord was 12 gauge so neither was the issue. The next snow, I used the snowblower for 10 minutes before the electric smell returned. The snowblower blew out shortly after. This is only the SECOND TIME I used it!! Now I have to hassle with repair and warranty. DO NOT BUY THIS PRO...

It worked as I expected.

Would Recommend

I used it for the first time in 5 inches of wet snow.Cord management takes some getting used to. I tight grip is essential to keep it running. Cordless would be easier but for the money I will use this one.

No help with missing parts. Shop somewhere else,

Would Not Recommend

The hardware required to put it together was missing, Was put on hold several times, then transferred to a line that disconnected me. Toro also would not help me get the missing parts. It would be wise to shop somewhere else.

Perfect size for Maryland

Would Recommend

Got this unit over 10 years ago and it still works like a champ. It doesn't handle deep snow, but we don't usually get deep snow. I run out and clean the driveway a couple times before it gets too deep. With the power of this unit it doesn't take too long. No maintenance so I can be sure it's ready to go when the snow falls. I couldn't justify a big gas unit for our decadal snows, but this hits the spot.
