Best tape measures you can buy

This is the most useful Tape measure I have ever had. The autolock feature is great and makes life so much easier when you don't have to remember to lock it when I let go to move along the tape.

Good for 3 months but overall not good value.

Stanley FatMax tape measures work flawlessly for the first 3 months, but always develop a problem and are not a good value. As a home builder, we have moved away from them.

Weak tape measure.

The lock doesn't fully lock and after about 3 or 4 days the tape won't even retract. Waste of money.

Highly recommend this tape measure! I’ve used almost everyday for the past year and it still works like brand new!!

Auto Lock Rocks

Durable and reliable, this is my go-to autolock tape. It's as good as ths OG Fatmax 25' but with a nice added convenience. Also like the extra-large hook.

Works great even after being left out in the rain

I love this tape measure, I could not believe it still worked after leaving it out in a thunder storm 3 days later, other brands i have used in the past get stuck after getting wet

Solid tape that works great

This tape is just as well-built as the standard Fatmax (so it's durable), and the auto lock is a nice feature that I did not anticipate enjoying as much as I do. I like the extra-beefy hook, the blade is readable, and the standout is excellent. Now I want a 16 footer.

Auto 'not quite' Lock

Love the tape measure and it's unsupported length, but I'm on my third one in the last 2 months. After one afternoon of use the auto-lock feature starts to slip, on all of them. The tape will slowly wind itself back in. Very disappointed as my previous one (same model) that does lock needed replacing after the blade started chipping. Really not happy with the quality of what is supposed to be a premium tape.

Absolutely amazing

This is a fantastic measuring tap of excellent quality. This helped me with a lot of stuff, and it's also auto lock, which saves me a lot of time when I'm building anything. I've had mine for almost 6 years and it's still going strong.

Perfect for my projects

I love Stanley tape measures. But I don't know why they along with everyone else whom makes tapes can't make one for the guy who measures from right to left using his left hand with the tape and marking with his right hand. I've been doing projects around my house and I have no complaints! Stanley Tools get the job done!

I have been using Stanley Tool since I was a kid, that's all my father used. I needed a tape measure to do some framing in a window so I called my dad and asked him what is a good tape measure to use and other tools that are sturdy and would be reliable that I needed. Great Tape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the Stanley tape measure as well as a couple of others and they have yet to disappoint me. I never lose them( Stanley Color Coded) and they are my go to measure. I also have a scribe that I use but I have to be careful as it’s an oldie but goodie.

Great item

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Stanley 25 ft. Fatmax tape measure. It makes the job easier. It has one handed locking, standardized markings for finding studs, and large numbers to see easier. With the tape measure coated against rust it is bound to last a lot longer than other tape measures.

Great tape measure!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I grew up with my dad always having a Stanley made tape measure. I used this one and did exactly as I remember. The lock mechanism works perfectly. My sons love to measure even with it! I highly recommend this tape measure.
