It was likely they knew something was off because of the package when it was returned. It was the last one in stock and I was desperate without my water well not working. Wasted my time. I had to go to another Lowe’s in Paramus that has several unopened in stock to get another one 10 miles in the other direction. They would not allow me to return the damaged one...

Would RecommendYes, the screws are tight, use a good flat head screwdriver and they will loosen. Using a phillips screwdriver, not so much. Strip back the wire a little and loop it around the screw and they won't come loose. A square d switch is much better quality but you can overcome the minor issues with these switches with a little patience.
