Be sure to operate it properly

I think the negative reviews come from folks who used this tool incorrectly. You should NEVER have to use great force to wind or unwind the tape. To unwind, hold the HANDLE and grab the TAPE with your hand (wear a glove) and pull. The spool will turn as the tape is released. To wind back up, hold the HANDLE and turn the SPOOL to retrieve the tape. Take your time. You should not have to force it. If it sticks, reverse directions a tiny bit and try again. It should go smoothly. This worked great...

Does what was expected

Helped pull electrical cord through attic, got caught on rafters a couple times, but overall did the job

Cheap price but excellent product

I had a friend of mind run speaker wire for me. I could have done it but he is a certified mason and have the tools. However he didn't have his fishing tool and I had just purchased this one. It worked like a charm. This tool is strong and stiff and easily allowed him to fish the wires up to my basement ceiling. Highly recommended, especially the ability to extend or retract the snaking tape with the handle.

A must for fishing wires

I just bought this to install 10 recessed light and I am kicking myself to doing so many previous project without it. It made running wires behind the wall so much easier. Definitely recommended.

Fish tape what?

Never needed one until installing security wires inside walls.Funny name for an awesome tool when you need it.Couldn't have completed job without it. Thanks again Lowe’s.

Southwire 25-ft Steel Fish Tape

Made pulling 30-Amp wiring through conduit with two 90 degree bends a piece of cake - highly recommended. Rigid plastic end piece on tape was easy to snake past conduit connections and held wire securely as it was pulled through.

Great Fish Tape

This fish tape is perfect for running long distances in narrow spaces when you need the wires to stay in a specific orientation and not roll over. Used it for running flat wire under carpet without any difficulty.

It’s jammed and won’t pull out from plastic case

I used this fish tape once. It still looks brand new and it’s jammed and won’t pull out of the plastic case more than 1 foot. The larger models of this product work great.

Made Job easier

I used this to fish wires for a four camera security system. I did one wire without mad it was a pain. Went and bought this and wired the other three as fast as the first one.
