Fixed water hammer on washing machine

I bought these to fix water hammer for my washing machine. The pipes were banging every time the flow of water would shut off, and with my new HE front loader, that was multiple times during the fill & rinse cycle. I attached them to the back of the machine, checked for leaks, and tried the machine out. The hammering and banging is completely gone. Only leaving 4 stars as it's been less than 24 hours since they were installed, so I am not sure about the longevity.

Water Hammer Arrestor

Installed two of these Water Hammer Assestors to the water (hot and cold) supply lines to the washing machine. The machine cycles seem to run smoother - with no typical banging of the water lines.

I got a new washer that was quiet for six months then it started going BANG! BANG! every time the water to it shut off, not when it flowed in to it but when it called for it to shut off the flow inside the washer. This drove me nuts.... it sounded like someone right outside my home slamming car doors; I couldn't get a nap, watch tv.. ugh.. so I read up - water hammer is what they term it. No more banging

Big difference, my washing machine is nearly silent now when filling with water, wish I thought of installing these a long time ago. I just hope they last more than a year as many reviewers say they don't last very long. Time will tell.

Work like a charm

I used to have Water hammering issues every once in a while during the winter season since I installed the new washer. I installed this directly to the hot and cold of my washer and the water hammering has not yet cold back since then and no leaking. Please make sure you use Tafalon tape when connecting those to your water line otherwise it will be leaking. FYI I don't have to do Tafalon when connecting it to my washer.

Stops Water Hammering

Very neat little gadget. Bought two of these (1 for hot and 1 for cold water) and they work great! Easy to install. Shut of water to machine, unscrew hose from the back of the washing machine (not wall), connect reducing valve to back of machines hot and cold water connections, and simply reconnect the water hoses to the bottom of the reducing values, then open water pressure again. Honestly took make 5 minutes. Stopped all water hammering and I had it bad!

Does what it's supposed to do

These are to replace the ones we bought a couple of years back. They definitely cut down on the banging pipes that could be heard throughout the house when the washing machine was running. They do need to be replaced over time which is expected.

Excellent Washer water hammer arrester

I replaced arresters that were a few years old and water hammer had come back, For extra performance I installed 2 on wall valve and one on washing machine end of each hose. I used water hose 90 degree brass elbow fittings on wall valve and between arresters so that all arresting cylinders are vertical or very close to vertical. They completely took care of the water hammer problem. They are great for getting rid of noise and potential damage to pipes.

Stopped hammering for a couple weeks

Purchased new LG washer (notorious for causing hammering) and it was causing hammering when fill valves closed. Put one of these on each hose and it worked for a couple weeks and now they arent stopping hammering

Fantastic Product, every wash machine should have

I was fighting a water hammer issue that was rattling the pipes in the entire house, our new wash machine apparently is notorious for this. A pair of the pressure reducing valves on the back of the machine solved the issue. My wife is happy so I am a happy man.....

simple to install. no special tools needed. stopped the water pipes from making a hammering noise as the washing machine went through its cycle.
