Would Not RecommendI bought these so that I could attach my shop vac to a table saw and to a table router for dust collection. Each tool has a 2.5-inch dust collection opening. The Lowe's description of this product states that it works with 2.5-inch tools. The problem is that the 2.5-inch adapters are exactly 2.5-inches and so don't fit over the 2.5-inch dust collection opening on a tool -- nor do they fit inside it.

Would Not RecommendIt does what it says, but shouldn't be required. Also too expensive. Had to buy in order to use better attachments from old Shop Vac. The tubes are too big with new unit I purchased. Discovered after purchasing that hose from old unit actually fits the new Shop Vac access hole. So, I am using the smaller, more manageable hose and its attachments. Adapter should come with ShopVac or cost a lot less.

Until now, I’ve been jerry rigging something (usually involving paper towel rolls, packing tape, and zipties) to connect the shop vac to the orbital sander. Would RecommendI discovered after buying a detail tool kit from the nautical-named discount tool store that I have neither 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" hose on my 9 gallon DeWalt vac. I'm thankful for reviews that said this product fits the 1 7/8" hose. With a little bit of building and rebuilding, I was able to get my vacuum attached to the detail kit using these adapters.
