Horrible Smell - Sharp Won't Help

I bought this microwave expecting a lot for the price. The unit has an electrical/plastic burning smell that makes my family and I not even want to use it. Upon contacting Sharp support they told me to boil some lemons in the microwave which I did, and it didn't help at all. They told me the smell would wear off over time and that it is just factory electrical grease burning or something, but it hasn't gotten the slightest bit better after several months. Not enough power.

Why did my contractor sell me this? Most all microwaves need 1100 watts, not 950.

We originally planned to have this item installed in an appliance garage type cabinet and are so glad we moved it to a family friendly location under the countertop. It is so easy to read the panels and follow the directions; even my granddaughter and husband can properly operate it! Any spill is easy to reach to clean. Features are comparable to other microwaves. When designing a renovation to my kitchen, I needed to preserve cabinet space as well as leave space for a double oven. The drawer microwave is fantastic!

Game Changer!

My home is ADA compliant. My microwave was a traditional in cabinet mount with a door. In order to clean it I had to get on my hands and knees! Now all I have to do is press a button and the door automatically opens making it VERY user friendly. Additionally, it looks BEAUTIFUL...imagine a microwave that looks designer!!!

Quiet and works well.

This microwave fits well in our kitchen island. I like the large array of cooking options. I especially like that I can turn the end cycle reminder beeper off. The oven looks sleek and modern in our kitchen.

Our first drawer microwave lasted 14 years, and then started to spark! I looked up the cause on the internet and discovered that this sparking was common with Sharp drawer microwave. I contacted Sharp and was told that they would not stand by the recall for my microwave! That was very dissapointing, however, there are very few drawer microwaves so I did buy another Sharp. Stylish and Functional Microwave

So nice to have a microwave that sits below the counter. Stylish in that it does not take up counter space, and instead of being an eyesore hanging above the stovetop, it sits below eye level and fits in a standard open cabinet space. We have had no technical problems, and it is full featured and powerful for quick cooking.

This Product is Great

Love this Microwave. The design is sleek and stylish. Nice big drawer to hold bigger dishes. Having a drawer makes it so much easier to remove the food and not worry about dropping it like an over the stove top microwave. This is my third Sharp and they get better every time I buy one.

Sharp microwave Drawer oven

This microwave drawer was suggested by our contractor. At first I was a little Leary on getting this just because I’ve never heard or seen one before. The only downside I see is the food doesn’t turn while it cooks. I only use it to reheat food or drinks. Other than that, it’s a conversation piece when people come over.

Less than a year in and the touch panel stopped working and will need to be replaced. it costs more than 10x a "cheap" microwave, and lasts 1/10th of the time. however, when it IS working, it works well and is a pleasure to own and use.

Under counter Microwave

Selected this microwave for its sleek design and drawer functionality. I love how it fits with the aesthetics of our kitchen layout. Makes for a clean counter/ cabinet display and the drawer feature is easier to use than an door model that would be placed higher up in a cabinet.

Microwave i aesthetically good looking

The product works great. However, there is not a pull down handle that is easy for me to pull down the control panel. Also, it's difficult the clean the interior when the tray slides down. I also noticed the on/off button and start button wears down a lot because of the constant usage. If these areas can be improved, that would be great.
