Landscape timbers (railroad ties)
Would RecommendI purchased 8 landscape timbers and had them delivered. The driver was a pro and dropped them exactly where I needed them in my backyard. Upon inspection I noticed about half were visibly rotted in places. I used them to make tree planters and they were OK for this. They would not have made good steps. These timbers are difficult to work with they chew up blades and drill bits.

Would RecommendThe banded bundle of railroad ties looks great on the outside but we don't yet to know what condition the ties in the middle are in. That said, while every employee we encountered was nice and helpful, they needed 2 forklifts to get the bundle fully onto our trailer and 1 was waiting for a new gas tank to operate his, then he proceeded to help unload a truck causing us to wait a long time for him to come assist the 1st employee who was in the middle of trying to insert the bundle of ties onto t...
Poor quality
Would Not RecommendI hoped to find better quality railroad ties than I was finding used from Craigslist, but was sorely disappointed. Most were split all the way through, had huge divots where they cut under the track plates and not have even one good side. I suppose these could be suitable for some landscape uses, but I had a very hard time finding good enough timbers to use for stairs.

Would RecommendThe timbers themselves were great, but the process of retriecing and loading them into my vehicle was laxk7ng. We waited over an hour after checking out to get the help we needed.

They are a Lil rough, for $28. Grade 2 or 3. Still worth it. Lil better than the ones in Athens
