I purchased 12 bags of the black mulch and when I opened them, they were the more chunky style. I needed six more bags and five out of the six bags were finely shredded and I know it was all from the same pallet.

Different color each bag

Please do not buy this product unless you do not care about color and shapes this product has. I bought 35 bags of red mulch to do decor my house, None of the bags has the same color. Different shades of RED and also some are very shredded and others totally not shredded. Frustrating (Is not letting me add pictures)!

Product standard is poor

I have purchased the red product for over 20 years. I recently purchased 8 bags and the new color is no different than the mulch I had down last year. For the past 4 years I would wait and purchase once off sale thinking the product had been sitting in the warehouse and trying different stores Scott color enhanced mulch is no longer up to standard I'm choosing a different product

Faded with in two weeks.

Faded with in two weeks. Very disappointed. I made sure to lay all this down a good week before a rain. It was placed during the first week of June, which wasn’t too hot yet here in the south. I purchased eight bags and all of it just looks like the black mulch has just liquified off of it. We will not be repurchasing. I uploaded two photos. One is from the day I laid all of it down, the other is from today.

Lost color in less than 24 hours & metal debris

I happily bought 50 bags for a front yard project. Prepped the area removed all grass and filled with good planting dirt prior to putting down 14 of the bags in a flower bed. It looked amazing! Until the following afternoon. Yes, in less than 24 hours the color was washed off and 4 different bags contained what looks like a metal screw cap. Thankfully I found these before the kids did with the bare feet! Very disappointed that I went with the ‘better brand” to be left with 5 day old mulch that...

Quality not what it used to be

I paid more to buy Scott’s mulch expecting a quality product. Unfortunately I might as well bought the cheaper mulch. I had very large chunks of wood. Not the quality of earlier years.

Would not purchase again. Has weeds in it.

Before putting the mulch down, we put down weed blocking plastic. Now, I have these weeds with stickers that keep coming back. It still looks nice, except I am having to pull weeds ever couple of weeks. The picture shows what has grown in the past two weeks. Makes a lot of work when there shouldn’t be any.

Product works well in my garden

I bought 40 bags in Calgary for my garden a month ago. It still looks great with no loss of color and no contaminates in any of the bags. I have seen none of the issues reported by other customers in this thread so in my experience it is a good product.

Faded very fast.

Completely faded to almost no color in just a week. you couldn't tell I even mulched it all after one week.

No color gaurd on the black mulch for sure!

I spread 30 bags og Scott's cedar mulch in my garden beds and under my trees. It rained twice and when the mulch dried the black is all washed off to almost bare wood bark and chips. It looks like it's been down since 3 or 4 years it's so washed out!

ALL THE BLACK WASHED OUT FROM RAIN IN JUST ONE NIG

I put down some of this black mulch and that night it rained and the very next day the mulch was COMPLETELY rinsed of any black color and was all looking like the old mulch from the year before. I've never had black mulch fade so fast. Not even 24 hours later! I'm glad I did not do the entire yard. Only used two bags. The third one is going back!

Your product STINKS now

I am so disappointed this year with Scotts Nature Scapes Brown Mulch after using it for years. It was the only brand I would buy. Not anymore. It used to be thick consistent colored wood chunks that would last a very long time. Now is like the cheap light shredded stuff you get in bulk. It looks like shredded pork. It's terrible. I have used your product with great satisfaction for years but won' be buying from you again. What a shame.

Works as expected

I've read lots about people saying that their mulch faded, we get a full year in Florida sun with this mulch. As for comments stating that the bags should be marked about rain or watering within the first 24/48 hours after application, it is! The only thing not listed is pet safety, wish it was, had to look it up.

WORSE THAN HORRIBLE

WORST mulch I have EVER used. Faded in 1 ONE!! DAY. I will NEVER buy it again. If you are not supposed to water or use in case of rain, put that "warning" ON THE FRONT OF THE BAG!!!!! I will never use ANY of your products again. And I will tell ALL of my friends and post on my socials about this worthless product. Done.with.you!!!

I Don't Recommend

I bought 4 bags of the Nature Scapes Color Enhanced Mulch in black last Sunday for a small project....The black mulch looked great when we put it down. It rained later that evening and by the next day the color was already going away. The black mulch I have (from a local sand and gravel company) is two years old and has held its black color FAR better than this new Scotts mulch...it is more of a brown mulch in only 24 hours.

Mulch

I disagree that mold in the mulch is good for the garden. Very disappointed that brand name “Scott’s “ mulch has large chucks of wood and white mold/ mildew. I find the “no name” brand at No frills to be better.

Poor Color

I bought 20 bags of this mulch and over half of them I opened up and some of the mulch in the bag wasnt even colored.

Not Mulch!

If you want big sticks and large pieces of wood in your mulch, then this is the product for you. You may also get bonus rocks, plastic, and pieces of all kinds of stuff that is not wood mulch. Go with another brand.
