I've used the pillow a few more times than the mat, because it's so easy to just prop on the couch and relieve a little tension. The plastic points ARE very sharp, but once you settle in you get used to it and it feels great. (The instructions say this, but it does work more effectively if your bare skin is on the mat/pillow, versus wearing a shirt.)

Give it a little time

I bought mats for my 3 daughters, and they had the same experience. As other users have noted, get through the first 2 minutes or so .. and you run the risk of falling asleep while using it. Outstanding buy!
