Porter cable seems to be a dying line in the big brands bank of names. I have a ton of PC equipment, none has failed me. This is no exception. this hammer drill really outperformed the competition. I have a few hammer drills and hands down this in now my go to.

Great drill

Been using for a year and no issues, good power and the hammer helps when doing any masonry work.

Porter Cable: Disposable?

This is the second PC hammer drill I've purchased. The first one just stopped working in the hammer mode. Just threw one on trash that looked brand new!

I have had this drill several years. I started drilling two 1/2 inch holes through concrete floor. I noticed it throwing a lot of sparks near motor brushes. Halfway through second hole it started smoking and quit. I thought I would attempt to change brushes but the brush holder which is attached to motor was melted. I got my 25 year old black and Decker with taped up power cord(not a hammer drill) and finished the other hole. I did salvage the cord for my old black and Decker and threw the...

Smoked

I just burnt through my 3rd drill, what I consider light use for a hammer drill, drilled concrete a few times and mixed mortar once... drill just cant keep up

Works great!

Only a couple of uses, but both times drilled 6 holes into concrete block walls to set television wall mounts. The drilling was effortless and this drill motor did not flinch.

Not for concrete drilling

So I moved on to 1/4 inch hole number 6 and it stopped working … no power , checked cord, it was still plugged in the wall. Finished drilling the hole with my 18v cordless Hitachi non hammer drill . Each hole was only 1 inch deep .. Crap design

Used it to drill 8 holes in brick, and it died. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Great product for the price

I needed a drill that was not baterry powered for the job. This drill has the torque needed to drill 3/4 " holes with no problem. The drill fits well in your hand and the handle is a great add on.

Junk!

I remember when Porter Cable made good equipment. I usually buy Dewalt, but decided to give this drill a try. I used it 3-4 times, and then it start not being able to drill into the railroad tie. Then the drill started smoking. It would stop like it didn't have enough power, I ended up having to use my Dewalt cordless to get the job done. Total waste of money...buyer beware!

Did the job

I have a really good drill but needed a hammer drill for small project. For the price works really well.Would recommend for small DIY stuff around house.

Absolute junk! Burned up and smoking after 6 holes

This drill is junk. It was smoking after 6 holes. Going back to the store.

great drill great price

I bought this to replace an old Milwaukee drill that hard given up on me. I use this drill to set anchors in concrete, mix sheetrock mud, grout, thinset and concrete. This drill has NO problem handling it.

Purchased this Drill in Aug 2017 as a replacement for an older hammer drill. and used it to complete the last two holes in concrete slab.. The unit worked fine, but noisy. I recent had the need to drill a few holes in concrete and did not make it through the 1st hole when the drill caught fire. I expected more from this brand do not waste your money.
