What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise wood stains for consistent quality, rich color depth, and exceptional ease of application. Many report decades of loyalty, citing superior performance and professional-grade results that other brands cannot match. Reviewers highlight smooth, even coverage, quick drying times under two hours, and minimal cleanup required. The extensive color range and ability to mix custom tones are frequently mentioned strengths. Most find one coat sufficient for a polished finish. A small number note perceived formula changes or isolated color inconsistencies, but these concerns are vastly outweighed by enthusiastic endorsements from the overwhelming majority.

We have had excellent results
Several months ago we purchased an 80 year old cottage that has a goodly amount of the original 1 1/4 inch hardwood flooring. We have "touched" almost ever. square foot of the floors, ceilings and walls. One evening we rolled a good coat of this polyurethane over the hardwood then got in the van and drove the 800 miles back home. When we returned 10 days later we were greeted by some of the most beautiful floors you will ever see. The surface is hard, smooth and squeaky clean as can be. Next is...

Beautiful and easy!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had great results using Minwax Oil-Based Stain on my wood projects. It applies smoothly, penetrates well, and brings out the natural beauty and grain of the wood. I like that it offers rich, consistent color and gives projects a professional look when applied correctly. I typically finish my pieces with a beautiful clear coat, and the final result always looks clean, durable, and high-end. Overall, Minwax Oil-Based Stain has been a dependa...

Beautifully highlights the natural oak woodgrain!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter and I applied the original oil based Minwax penetrating oil based stain in Golden oak on stripped oak planks that are over 60 years old. The stain was applied with a high quality polyester bristle brush for applying stain and a lot of hand rubbing after allowing the stain to penetrate for about 10 mins. Wow, it looks great!!

So easy with professional results
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a handyman and I was hired to sand and stain ceiling beams and new windows in a home remodel. The homeowners spent a lot of money on the renovations including the exposed beams and hand crafted wood windows. After I lovingly hand sanded each window and beam, I applied minwax wood finish and it went on so smoothly with a foam applicator and then, after about 20 minutes, I wiped off any excess. The wood looked so beautiful. The homeowners ...
