Beeps LOUD, cannot be silenced!

This microwave came brand new with a house I bought and I thought it was pretty cool until I learned this is about the only model that you can not reduce the volume of the beeps or silence them entirely. This is driving me NUTS. The beeps are as loud as a fire alarm. The whole house heard them. Absolutely unacceptable.

Display glitch

Display glitch after just 2 years. Microwave works fine like any other but it’s glitching

Clock display issues are a known problem

The microwave operated fine for two years, but the clock display is now flickering badly. After some research and attempts to fix, there is no alternative other than an expensive repair or replace. Boo!

Annoyingly loud!

This microwave looks nice, but beware, it is unnecessarily loud! The sound cannot be adjusted or turned off. It a will also stick out from your cabinet 1.5 inches. My last microwave was flush with the cabinets, and did not sound so loud. It is extremely annoying!

Great short term microwave!

This microwave is great if you only plan to use it 3 years! That’s when it quits! 2.5 years in the display started having issues and then year 3 comes and it sounds like everything is working but it doesn’t heat. This must be why LG only has a 1 year warranty. They know it doesn’t last long.

It warms food

Display flickered from day one, stopped working after a couple years

Not recommended

Just recently tore the door off the microwave. The front face fulled away from the microwave and ended up breaking the plastic underbody. Screws and bits everywhere. Still works... yay.

It worked great until

Failed Flickering Screen

Like so many others left bad reviews, the Flickering display board! This is the third time!! The first time the replaced the whole unit because board was not available. Second time the replaced the board which failed again few months later. The unit is out of the one year warranty!! It is clearly a manufactured defect of the microwave with constant complaints from most customers. Would not recommend it. LG MUST ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND REPLACE ALL FIALED BOARDS REGARDLESS IF STILL IN WARRANTY OR...

Worked fine until . . .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had the microwave about a year. The buttons are very hard to see and push. A week or so ago the display went out and can’t find a place to get it fixed.

Clock/Timer Display Flickers, Hard Press Buttons

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave oven is not terrible but it does have issues. Most problematic is the clock/timer display that flickers. The flickering came on gradually and by the time it became annoying the warranty period was up. Also, the amount of pressure needed when pressing the buttons is noticeably more than expected, based on experience with previous microwaves. You have to press hard to make sure the oven senses the press.

Bad display - questionable quality

The LCD screen (clock / timer) flickers. It is annoying and makes it difficult to use the features. Not recommended.

LG 7-segment displays are poor quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Microwave works well but after about 1.5 years the control panel 7-segment display started glitching. At first just a couple segments flashing, gradually got worse, now it's barely readable. And now my LG stove (bought at the same time) is starting to have the same problem. I have 20+ year old alarm clocks that still have a strong display, this is not new technology, it's really disappointing.

Fire hazard

Was pretty happy to find a microwave to fit our built-in space. It is attractive. The keypad went out 3 days before the warranty expired. Got that fixed with no problem. Everything has been going OK until last night when the microwave caught fire while cooking a potato. Luckily it was contained so only lost the microwave. House still smells like smoke.

Don't buy

Piece of junk. The display went bad just after a year. Ordered a new display and it went bad within a year. . LMV1831SS

Not Reliable and Not Durable

The LG LMV1831SS microwave I have was manufactured in 12/2021 and is 2 years and 10 months old as of this review. At less 1 year old the display began to flicker. This has gradually grown worse and is now at the point where all digits flicker rapidly. The microwave will still function, but it is unsightly and clumsy to use for timer functions, etc. After looking at this microwave, a repairman stated that he could not get parts for this unit; for that bit of information, I was out 200 dollars. ...

I would not buy this model again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sad to read the other reviews about the control panel flickering because mine is doing the same thing and is not very old. We put all LG appliances in when we redid our kitchen and all the others are still doing great. The dishwasher is my all time fav. Also, disappointed that I cannot turn the beep volume down or off, it’s so loud and can be heard from across the house in our babies room.
