I like most of the MVEL2033D features, plus its sleek, clean design. But the two things that annoy me every time I use it is the fact that the buttons are hard to press to activate and that they are not back lit. It would have so easy to design the feature that when you open and then close the door, the control buttons light up. So easy...such a huge failure. I'm even contemplating buying a different microwave just to get this feature. and just trashing this one.

LG WARRANTY SCAM!

Would Not Recommend

Magnetron died after 3 years. 10 year warranty is a scam. They will not replace it. They will not send you the part to repair it. They will send you to a "licensed" repair shop that will then charge you about half what you paid for it so it can survive another few years. LG does not stand behind their products and uses a bogus 10 year "Magnetron" warranty to make you feel like you have a solid product. I like it.

I love how this microwave functions, much more powerful than my 20 yo model, not happy that the display does not light up, when I did my search for LG microwaves with back-lit display and this one came up. I had a friend install it for me and he said it was pretty easy. It fit well with the outside ventilation that was part of my old machine. Would I buy it again, probably not, I would purchase one with back-lit display.

Don’t buy this if you are a small person

We just installed this, so I can’t really speak to how well it will work. But the control buttons for the microwave are at the bottom of the front panel, which causes the window on the front to be placed higher. I am five feet tall, and cannot see the food that is being cooked. Also the inside light is very dim, and the glass on the door is very dark, which makes it difficult to see the food as it cooks. It works!

I have had this microwave for about a month. It works fine and seems very powerful, but there are a few things I don't love about it...first off it's very difficult to see the control panel unless all my kitchen lights are on - I have a darker kitchen - the option for backlight would be nice. Another issue is the door is very wide and I've hit my head a few times opening it. I do love the sleek look, but would probably opt for a handled door the next time.

Not worth it

DO NOT purchase this item. LG only gives you a year warranty and I have had mine for 2 1/2 years (6/30/23) and it no longer works. The inside light bulb went out within 2 months and it is a pain to replace. Not a huge deal. But the sensor cooking started to go about 6 months ago, giving me a F4 error code. My first complaint was that the sound to announce the microwave was done is BEYOND ANNOYING and there is only one option- this annoying song can be on or off. The microwave is WiFi enabled and it only has one freaking song option? Weak. But I can live with that. We did not know that the touch pad does not light up at all. Except for the clock. It's very hard to see in the evenings and early mornings without having to turn on the overhead kitchen light. If it had the backlit display for the touchpad, this would have been a five-star review.
