Shattered a piece of crap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It completely shattered in my face while I was trying to grind meat not very well-made at all and unfortunately it’s just that a warranty so I’m stuck with a shattered piece of crap

Piece of Garbage!!!

I bought this when I picked up my mixer about 3 years ago. Never used it. I finally decided to use it and when I opened the box, I saw that the grinder tube was cracked right along the seam. What garbage!! I never got to use it! Stay far away!

Bad luck?

I bought this attachment to grind my own meat, used it once after following instructions and ring broke.

This will happen

Used 3 times, only 3 times, kept in box,hand washed only, 3 uses and now trash! DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!

Broke before I was done with my 1st time using it

Grinder attachment

Used for tbe first time to grind 4 goose breasts and while hand washing it the threaded end of the worm gear fell out. Looks like it was cast metal. No shear marks. But now it is worthless.

Love it but also disappointed

I bought the grinder in January 2019 and loved it. We noticed that during the process that there was this grey/black colour coming off and stcking to the meat. I used it today after a few months of not using and noticed that it was worse, that big alot of the grey/black was coming out. After I noticed that the spiral had grease all over it and the inside round has black little dots. Very disappointed.

Mine is 40 years old

i don't understand the low reviews. Mine did develope a cack in the back which makes it a bit more difficult to clean, but it works great. To makes sure it grinds properly the meat needs to be really really cold (I usually put it in the freezer for about 15 minuted before I grind it) and you need to use the wrench and make sure it is tight before you grind meat. Ihave had to purchase a new blade and got a bigger variety of grinding plates but I'm a happy camper.

Flew off my machine

Used this for the first time yesterday and a piece snapped off and it flew off my machine. I have loved and used a KitchenAid mixer for years. I received this attachment as a gift and was so excited to use it. I wish I would have read the reviews before trying it out because it flew off my machine taking the front cover flap with it. Great for the 1 time I used it before it cracked!

Absolutely horrible materials, was given this as a gift, connected it today and ground a pound of Chuck roast, look at the housing and 3 cracks have developed... AFTER 1 USE!!! Avoid like the plague....

Health hazard-metals shavings in the ground meat

As with other reviews I am experiencing metal shavings in the ground meat. It occurs due to the metal shaft rubbing on the center hole of the grinder plates. Freezing the meat makes no difference. The result is that there is black meat (from the metal shavings mixing with the fat in the meat) coming through the center plate. This is a health hazard. I have seen many comments posted over a period of years detailing this issue. I wish I had seen them before buying. Why has this not been addressed ...

Metal shavings get added to the meat

I bought this attachment a few years ago and finally used it to grind pork shoulder to make dumplings. Unfortunately, the meat kept getting clogged in the grinder resulting in quadruple the amount of time it should have taken to grind 3 lbs of meat. Additionally, what did manage to get ground had to then get sifted to remove the metal shavings that was added from the blades. I ended up having to throw all of the meat out as I couldn’t seem to get a batch that was metal shavings free.

Worked great

Got this attachment along with my classic mixer for Christmas. Use the grinder to grind up deer meat for my boyfriend and had no problems! Even though it was tempting to turn the speed up, I kept it at the recommended speed. I did see online a metal version is available as an option too.

Used twice, screw broke

What more can I say? The threaded end snapped off. Two uses. That was it. Not happy..

meat grinder

very frustrating experience, on first use grinder blew apart and will not grind anything, not meat, not berries, nothing. Very frustrating where the kitchen aid mixer is solid and dependable this attachment is second rate and ndoes not work.

Disappointed

I have had a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer for almost 20 years. In fact I bought a second one about 5 years ago with a bigger capacity. I LOVE them and use them all the time. Unfortunately this grinder does not live up to quality of Kitchen Aid appliances. I ONLY use my grinder once a year, after Thanksgiving, to grind the left over turkey and make croquettas. The grinder cracked and leaked the first time that I used it. Really disappointing. Never expected KitchenAid to have an attachment so poorly deigned and/or made.

Unhappy buyer

I received this last Christmas but I didn’t have a chance to used until last week , I decided to use it it didn’t work the way I expected the meet stuck inside I have to take it a Part a few times and put back on, makes a lot of noise.im not happy with this purchase
