Waste of money

My wife got this for me for Christmas. I followed the instructions on grinding the meat up and its just a mess. The meat goes through the coarse dies just fine but when I put on the smaller dies, they immediately get clogged. 4 times I've tried making this work, chilling the meat and the attachments, dicing the meat into very small chunks, etc. but same result. I've had others who grind their own meat try this out and met with the same result. I dont know if the blades are dull or what but I've ...

I tried mine today and it seems the attachment doesn’t line up flush with mixer, curious if this normal or how to fix it. It will grind meat then all of a sudden turn then it makes a mess..

Not worth the money at all

So sorry I spent so much money on this. Trying to ground chicken and it is really not working. My chicken is cold and hardly anything comes through the little holes, and only a couple of them. Disappointed!!

meat grinder

this thing is awesome did ground beef and hamburgers and its a game changer for me I know what's in the meat and its made fresh without a doudt

Great function but poor construction

Works great but defect is the aluminum construction. Wife ran it through dishwasher and it's now all corroded. Terrible that food service item cannot be aggressively cleaned.

Engineered for failure

The mixer locks itself up as soon as you screw it together. If you leave it loose to turn when empty, it jams in use. The axle is too long for the body, causing significant jamming pressure that prevents use. How can this pass engineering, not to mention QA? Axle is nearly 1/16th inch longer than the space for it in the grinder body. this makes cutting blades protrude and lock up.

Save your money

Grinds well but metal coating comes off all over food and hands. Can't use anymore.

Quality tool!

I bought the metal meat grinder about a month ago from Kitchen Aid, I to use with my big stand mixer and have used it several times to grind raw chicken breasts and raw pork tenderloin, using the medium disk. I am so pleased with it and will never buy pre-packaged ground chicken or pork again! The difference in flavour is amazing! Grinds Meats - Ruins Mixer

I got this in this weekend and was very excited to use it. I grounded up about 5 pounds of meat. I followed the directions and watched some reviews. It worked well. When I was done, I removed the attachment and was greeted with meat impacted into attachment point. I cleaned it out. Two days later. My kitchen smelled horrible. I tracked it down to the mixer. I removed the top cover and there was blood in the frame. I had to remove the entire gear assembly. Meat was lodged everywhere. It's rusted ...

Fun and healthy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it, so much fun grinding meat for sausage. I've made breakfast sausage, Italian sausage and working on summer sausage today. Everything has been delicious so far. Best part I know exactly what's in it.

Interior of mixer fills with blood. DO NOT BUY!

If I could give zero stars I would. This grinder leaks blood into the interior components of the mixer. I had to grind up some venison and the entire mixer filled with blood, spilt onto the counter and after about an hour and a half of disassembling the mixer and wiping down/disinfecting both interior and exterior components of the mixer the grinder went right into the trash. Buy any other electric grinder on the internet before trying this one.

Poor QA In Machining

Got one of these for my birthday last year; while I was excited at first, I soon discovered that it did not properly lock into the mixer when (while trying to grind some tough fat) it ejected itself from the socket and began spinning wildly in my kitchen. I called to get a replacement, which arrived today; the new one fits better, but I can clearly see that it's still a little too big, and does not sit quite far back enough for the screw to rest directly in the divot. I haven't used it yet, but...

Not Great at Grinding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried it to grind boneless leg of lamb. Followed Instructions. The meat gets stuck in the inner grinder and does not come out of the extruder. Not happy with my purchase.

Christmas gift

Love using it
