What Customers Are Saying
This refrigerator model has received mixed reviews. While some customers praise its spaciousness, performance, and appearance, many have experienced issues such as malfunctions, design flaws, and concerns about quality and durability. The product's cooling and temperature control seem effective, but the high rate of reported problems and need for repairs are significant drawbacks. Customers should carefully consider the pros and cons before purchasing this model.

This thing is only 4 years old and I’ve had to replace every single component. Save your money buy literally any fridge besides this one.

It looks amazing.
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not only does it look nice, it holds so much food.

Would Not RecommendNothing but problem with this fridge. For the price tag you would think it would last. I have been dealing with the “over temp” beeping. Tech tried to fix it and worked for a week and then the beeping reappears. Disappointed in this model.

Great replacement of builder’s monogram
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The French door design is a rare find in built-in fridge. Plus the fact there is no water dispenser which helps my kid avoid the water spill all together. The freezer now holds a lot bigger item than side by side, which has been the key reason why we picked this model.

Nice and wide. A lot of space to hold big items
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only issue with this fridge is that I have one 32 inch door handle missing and can’t seem to get in touch with a live person to get a new one

disappointed
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i bought this to replace my 2008 24.2 cu ft 42" width built in panel ready refrigerator. Unfortunately, after a month of use; the top drawer is off track and a piece of molding fell off the trim. I'll need to place a service call on Monday 11/27/25. Not happy this new refrigerator needs a service call to fix or replace a drawer that's off track.

The best!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is an updated version of one I had for 17 years. Love this one as much as the last one!!!

Good replacement unit!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are very few options for 42" built in refrigerators. We had an old KitchenAid side by side before and hated it. This model, with the freezer on the bottom, is much more convenient. It feel much bigger. At this price range I would have expected a water dispenser, but that was not a deal breaker. The ice maker works well! The only complaint is that the doors self close very hard if you do not open them past 90 degrees. I hope this one lasts...

Works well and quietly
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator works well and is very quiet. The only issue is that both doors must be open in order to open the right side crisper drawer.

Exceeded our expectations

Panel Ready really makes the kitchen!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This was a replacement unit. My previous unit was probably damaged during a defrosting mistake. It was a very expensive ice chipping event. The new unit was ordered to keep the kitchen design consistant. The new unit runs much quieter and seems to produce more ice. The drawers are now wider, which allows more things to fit in, but I don't like the "top grab handle" for the upper drawers because if something on the shelf it can block where you f...

Prior design more functional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This purchase was of the same model installed in our home in 2006/2007 and we went with it because we have custom wood door panels on the front that could be re-used. Thankfully, the original panels fit the new refrigerator perfectly and generally we are satisfied with the refrigerator and we like the platinum interior. That being said we have a couple of items that are areas for Kitchenaid improvement: 1) The refrigerator makes a loud noise...

Love the refrigerator, but. . .
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the refrigerator - it was unpacked and put in place. About a week into using it, the screw holding the spring for the right door must have come out and left the right door swinging free, not closing all the way and the lights don't work. Waiting for the repair.

Looks nice, could be better
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a month ago. It's not as deep as we recalled in the showroom. For the outside size and overall cost, we were hoping to put more food in here. The drawers feel low quality, easily come off rails. But over all it looks great asthetically, makes good ice and the freezer space is solid.

Zero stars if I could.
Would Not RecommendBought this when we built our house in January 2022. The first one was delivered and never cooled. Waited 3 months for a new one, which is currently the one in my home now. It has been NOTHING but issues. We've had it 3 years and it's now out of warranty and literally the biggest mistake we made! The lights go out every 3-6 months and we use the repair company through that Kitchenaid refers us to every single time. Now the freezer isn't cooling. It makes ice whenever it decides to which isn't ve...

Run do not walk away from this refrigerator
Would Not RecommendBeyond disappointed in this purchase.... Run do not walk away from this refrigerator, unless you like having children's finger pinched in the doors that do not stay open. Don't bother calling support or their safety team because all they will tell you is that it is working as designed. Luckily the ice production is coolness of the unit is excellent (only reason it got 2 stars) so when your child's fingers get pinched in the slamming door you have a way to stop the swelling.
