Follow-up. No help from KitchenAid

I've purchased 2 of the same model, both failed in identical manner (complete loss of power). I called in to KitchenAid support 3 times. The first scheduled service about 2 weeks out. Service never arrived. Second call again scheduled service, never arrived. Service provider (Guinco) had no record of service request. Third call decided they would not be able to schedule service. No resolution offered - sorry you're out of luck.

2nd failed unit. Faulty design.

This model of microwave had been installed by the previous owner of our house as part of a full KitchenAid appliance suite. The unit completely died in 2023. I checked the manufacture date: 2018. 5 years - not what I would hope for out of quality appliance, but OK. I reluctantly replaced it with same model as we already had the mounting hardware and the trim plate which matched (both size and color) the KitchenAid oven installed nearby. Mistake. Cheap Microwave - Do Not Purchase

Our is not even 2 years old and the inside has already began to rust. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your money on this line of KitchenAid!

The operation has been fine with good characterist

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The appliance is starting to make a vibrating sound. It sounds like it is coming from the top. It function fine but I am concerned this may become a problem.

How long should a microwave last?

Ours made it about 7 years then the control panel went out. Slowly the digital numbers started to disappear from the screen, now it's dead. Is 7 years long enough? I thought we bought a higher end microwave and it would last at least ten years.

Poor reliability

We previously owned a KitchenAid microwave that came with our new build house. It lasted 10+ years before it gave out. We purchased this microwave just short of 2 years ago and it's already failed. We purchased this unit because it was compatible with the existing trim kit and our great experience with the previous version. Disappointing, this was a great microwave while it worked.

Awful Product and Support

We had this product for about 1.5-2 years and it came with our home build that we outfitted with Kitchen Aid Products "Thinking" it would be a superior brand to what we had in the past. We were wrong. The Microwave had random issue throughout our ownership and the biggest current issue is random sparking when trying to heat up food. Terrible durability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this microwave 4 years ago. Within the first year the buttons were bubbling. Now one of the digits is not reading. For the price of microwave I would NOT recommend. It microwaves fine but makes our kitchen look cheap. Very disappointed.

Failure

Only two years of use....died. No longer manufactured according to sales at Whirlpool.

Great microwave-finally

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took us 3 tries to get one that wasn’t damaged but it looks. And works well in our space and matches other kitchen aid appliances that are 5 years old.

Works for 5 years and then breaks!

It worked for 5 years and broke. The digital screen broke about 6 months ago and the push button broke just recently. No one answers the phone, 1 hour 5 min. wait, and there are no parts online to purchase. Too bad, this causes so much unnecessary waste to the environment and our pocket books!

Not satisfy

Less than 2 year old and the unit died. Noticed electrical burn odor. Before it died a segment of the LED digit stop working.

Worst Microwave from Kitchenaid

This is my 2nd microwave from kitchen aid. 1st one I bought it on 2018 and stopped working after 3 years. I thought it's one off and ended up buying same product on 2021.Now it stopped working again. Light is off, when we set cook timer it is not running but microwave is operating when doors are open. Worst product ever!!a

Magnetron Failed

Got this Microwave from the builder and little after 2 years it stopped heating. Looks like KitchenAid makes special series for Builders so they last the 2 year warranty period. Please dont buy this Brand.

Worst microwave from a "wanna be high end" brand

Got the microwave from the builder so not really my choice. Horrible unit. The year is 2025 and you can't mute a microwave. Even better, my unit has constant coil whine even when it's off, drives people nuts. Stay far far away from this particular unit and the brand in general. My oven also just died after literal 3 uses.

Not worth the money

I don't usually leave reviews but this microwave is awful. We will put food in for 2 minutes and it will be cold then leave it in for another 30 seconds and you can't touch it because it is so hot. Also the LED display started to go out within the year. This thing is a piece of crap. You'll be better off looking at other brands.

Display fails

So my builder installed this one in my home in 2017. The display keeps going out. It was replaced 2 times under warranty. Then I bought the 4th one. Well it did last much longer but once again display is done. Rate to buy another one. What’s a good replacement that will work fit into same area and use same trim panel.

Fail after 4 years

Mine conked out after 4.25 years. Disappointing for a KitchenAid as my previous other brand lasted 30 years. This model also lacks many standard features and the sensor cooking option is very limited.
