Well designed and built compactor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is replacement for a Whirlpool compactor that lasted only four years. My new KitchenAid compactor has sleek exterior and quiet operation. It compresses so well that I rare need to use solid pack mode.

Trash Compactor is AWESOME

Got to replace old one

VERY NOISY!

Compacts as described, but overrated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The door of this compactor is flimsy when compared to the Braun that I replaced with the Kitchen Aide. It also lacks indicator lights to tell if the crusher ram is in the down or up position. Bad on KA for not adding such a simple feature. The air filter is a nice add.

GREAT UPGRADES FROM OLDER VERSION

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an older model from 15 + years ago. The new leveling legs feature eliminated any need to shim like the older version. Very easy to install- basically just push it in to the opening.

Do not buy

Less than 2 months after purchase the spot welds on the door have broke. The door does not shut correctly anymore. Compaction is not great either. This replaced the old JennAir which worked amazing. So regretful that I threw that away instead of fixing it. Way over priced and I would say stay away. This is the second attempt at a review apparently they like to hide reviews that are not positive. Also note don't just get fooled by the positive reviews, almost all the positives are paid rev...

Nice product, one little probkem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have owned trash compactor for 1 month. Quiet, does nice job, easy to use. Appears to be well made. One little issue is that side latch for internal compartment opens every so often and makes compactor drawer unable to close. I then need to relatch it. Not sure how to fix

Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had one in a home years ago & remembered it was the only appliance in my entire home that never gave me any trouble. Slide in trash drawer in present kitchen only allows small can with no lid. Finally remembered this compactor & purchased. No smell, no wasteful number of bags that aren’t filled & very nice look. A little pricey & had to give up a kitchen drawer to install but not one minute of regret!

Wonderful appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently moved into a condo and found that the trash compactor was old & not working. It was >20 years old. We decided to replaced it, and are so glad we did! One trash bag a week! It is really beneficial in a place where space is a premium.

Disappointing compactor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a Kitchen Aide compactor for 25-years and it was fantastic. When it finally failed, I ordered this new one, but it doesn’t work nearly as well. It doesn’t compact the trash unless we put it on “solid pack” which is annoying when you want to throw something away and it is locked. If you use it in regular mode, trash stays up near the top no matter how many times you cycle the compactor. It is really just an expensive trash can!!

Sleek Look

The product is fine. We did not get a call about when they were coming to install until the morning of installation.

Terrible Design for the Front Panel

We purchased this compactor last summer during our build and it was installed last winter. The front panel has snapped off after less than a year of use. Unfortunately, because it was purchased months before install, warranty won’t cover any replacement parts.
