Deep freezer

Good to go. Does everything we need it to do. Hold chicken steak shrimp fruit.

Defrosting

Green power light was flashing and thought it might be time to defrost. Never defrosted in the two years of ownership. Removed everything and really had minimal ice buildup. Problem - the drain plug was different than the one described in the manual or shown online. No arrow and no opening for water to come out. The plug just pulled out. I was concerned about how the water would run out - did not want a small flood. Result, I was able to scrap the ice loose before any melting occurred. I...

Best of the best

I bought the deep freeze a couple years ago and it’s survived 3 moves and it still works till this day. I haven’t had any issues best of the best.

Perfect size. Easy to drain. Looks nice.

Very nice freezer. Fits well everywhere. Holds more than enough items that I like to have on hand at any given time, plus some. Looks nice and blends in well with any decor.

Not Reliable

Like the other reviews, the freezer just quit and spoiled a lot of food.

Not recommended

I bought it in October 2021, but didn't start using it until April 2022, and today I found it stopped working. This freezer won't last a year and a half with only lightly used (never filled more than half.)

Don't Buy

I do not recommend this product. I only had it for two years and now it is no longer working. I went out of town for the week and came back to a freezer full of spoil food. What a waste of money......

Unacceptable

We purchased this freezer no more than 2 years ago. It malfunctioned abruptly and not only did we lose over $1,000 in meat, but the contents leaked out and seeped into surrounding carpeting, drywall, you name it. This resulted in over $8,000 in damages to our finished basement which is now being completely gutted. I tried to remediate the situation with GE Appliances who had a technician come to the house to evaluate the freezer. The technician confirmed it was a malfunction in the freezer itsel...

Great freeze I've had 4. I would not go with any other brand.... I love the quality!!!

Short term

I bought this deep freeze 8/2021. One year and 8months later it stopped working. Now I can’t get it serviced because the warranty is expired. Won’t buy it again. I do like the size.

Quit Working All My Beef Went Bad

Worked for about a year and then quit. Do not buy this product, it's Chinese garbage.

Works great for 2 1/2 years

Purchased this item Oct 2020 and installed it into a air conditioned room of the house. It is no longer cooling to freezing temps. I'm fairly certain it developed a leak near the compressor junction as I found white particles around the tubing and just below it. If it were reliable, I would be giving this unit 4 to 5 stars. It kept things frozen, was fairly light for its size, pretty quiet in operation and didn't develop much frost inside the unit.

This was a gift.

I think it would have been nice if they had included a second basket.

Could have been so much better

This unit cools OK. It was relatively cheap. Extremely poor build quality. No leveling feet, only one active hinge. Uneven cooling. Cooling coils not evenly wrapped around chest cavity. Only a n 8-10 inch band around the freezer walls actually cools. Very inefficient, needs at least twice as much insulation. Runs a lot even after a month of relatively consistent contents. Spend a little more and get something better.

Died after 2 years.

Can't repair. Every other appliance I have has lasted over 15 years. Buy quality, Hotpoint is not!

It Worked Great...Until It Didn't

I purchased this deep freezer in Jan 2021. I believe at the time it was around $300 (as I write this it says $229). It was great. Perfect for my tiny apartment. It kept everything nice and frozen. Only had it one year and 10 months when, just before heading to work on 11-2-22, I went into the freezer to get something to thaw for dinner, and my pizzas and other items were thawing. Unfortunate....

I bought this around 2 years ago and it broke! I don't know if it can be repaired but I hope GE services can. I was hoping that it would last at least 5 years before it needed repairs!
