Good generator crappy design

If any of you haven’t tried to take a spark plug out of these generators, you’re in for a treat the geniuses at Generac had their head so far up or they can’t see. It’s a joy.

Nice looking unit, but difficult to start initially

Unit will not now start, no matter how many times I pull starter rope. Only has about 30 hours on it. Good fuel and spark plug. Don't buy this unit , I am very disappointed!!

Hard to start.

The only way it will start is by opening up the side and spraying starter fluid in to the carb. You can’t rely on it.

Nice unit, but difficult to start

I have older version of this unit (G0071171). It was difficult to start when we first got it , but has gotten worse with time. Now, even when unit is sixty degree range it takes 16 pulls of starter rope to start the generator. It has less than twenty five hours running time on it.

Never made it to first oil change before it lost spark

Really liked it in the beginning. Lots of clean power till it just lost spark to the little common engine..buying a honda

Got me through a 4 day power outage

Power was out from 8PM on Wednesday to 11:30AM Sunday. This little machine ran flawlessly with nothing more than a couple refuels. Ran my furnace, refrigerator, a couple lights, my TV, and my CPAP machine with barely a hiccup. Ran for over 8 hours if not 10 on a single fuel up. Just need to change the oil and check the spark plug so it's ready for a monthly test and hopefully stays in the garage for a very long time. Good to know it is there when needed. Easy Starting, Light Weight & Powerful

I needed a generator; out power went out and my 35-year-old PowerMate 800 would not start. I wanted something light weight and with enough power to keep my sump pump and refrigerator running. The GP2200i fit the bill perfectly. Easy to setup - just add the oil included in the box using the funnel included and fill it with gas. One pull and it started. Lasted 3 years

I estimate I got a little over 1200 hours of use before the 120V port to the inverter fried rendering the otherwise perfectly running and maintained generator useless and shortened my already expensive camping trip. When I explained the issue to customer service, I was told I needed the control panel so I ordered it. Amazed it started!

To be entirely honest I was amazed the generator even started after seeing the condition of the box it arrived in. The case of the generator was apparently damaged slightly where the front control panel is attached to the case but I didn't feel it would be a problem with the operation of the unit. I didn't have the opportunity to check the output voltage and frequency at this time but will get to that later. Portable Power

Nothing beats portable power! I have a 12 amp corded leaf blower/ vacuum, and several areas that need my equipment, unfortunately they are just too far for extension cords so I needed portable power, and this is exactly what I needed. It’s not too heavy to move around and it’s very easy to use, Excellent product!

Generac is awesome love there products

I love Generac power washer and inverters they perfectly fine and I’m easy to used for any occasion.

generac 2200i got it started it ran great did the same twice more and ran great the 4th time ran like crap still in shop waiting 10 weeks later never did get to use but do have another one and it runs great still and have used this one just disappointed in the second one ?????

Used twice and issues- now prepping for storm and no luck

I purchased this generator two years ago I have since used twice, draining it regularly as well as running it as needed. 1- I recently tried to start and at first pull the recoil did not work. It took about 30 soft pulls and me walking away for it to retract. 2 - purging, I don’t know if this is normal but it purges when it ran and now it won’t run, cleaned the carb from sitting- even without fuel. Guage required for 50ft extension

I need to connect the 2200i to 50ft extension cable to run fridge/ freezer & tv & some lights from one of the standard plug sockets. What guage extension cord do I need? Can I run second extension cord off the first, or do I need to get another 100ft extension cord for the other plug on the generator so I can also run tv & lights - as circa 50ft away from fridge. Struggling to work this out before I can test generator. Thanking you in advance. Will update rating once I can use generator.

First one I have owned, borrowed a few over the years never a generac. Got this follow the manual started up and ran it. Real quite even forgot it was running while using it at an rc event. With all my chargers running never even ran up on rpm while set to eco mode. Color even matches the colors of the rc cars I race. Get it you will not be disappointed, right size, super quite not too heavy very easy to use.
