The Garmin Forerunner 35 was exactly what I needed for the right price. As an intermediate-to-advanced runner, I used this to track mileage, pace, overall time, and heart rate during and after my runs. The connectivity to the Garmin Connect smartphone app made uploading runs to other apps like Strava seamless. I would recommend it for beginners who are interested in trying out their first GPS watch or for more advanced runners who know what they want with nothing extra.

All the features I need at a reasonable price
After over one year of use I've been extremely satisfied with my Forerunner 35. It has all the essential features for running, cycling and fitness tracking, the pulse sensor works well, the battery life is sufficient, and it is more compact than most other models. I would definitely buy this model again.
From Garmin
Good as a starter activity tracking watch.
User friendly, even for inexperienced users. The price is also user friendly. If you are looking for more bells and whistles, consider getting one of the more advanced Garmin watches.

Not happy
Everything was fine with my Garmin Forerunner 35 at first and I loved it. But it quit taking a charge after about 3 months.

Barely Useful
About the only thing that is even remotely accurate is the stop watch feature. Distance measures are laughable--I ran 400 meters on a track in one direction (left hand curves) and then 400 meters in the other (right had curves). The first 400 was off by 20 meters; the second 400 lap was off by 100 meters. Pacing is virtually impossible because read outs vary by more than a minute without any perceptible change in pace. The problems did not change whether I used the foot pod or not. I cannot now ...

Watch band failure
I have enjoyed my Christmas present, the Forerunner 35, however, the watch band is now partially disconnected from the watch. The effort to connect the watch to the band with simple set screws must be a poor design since I now need a replacement after only 10 months

Awesome!
My Polar is too old for the strap to be replaced. Changed to Garmin. Easy set up through app.

Amazing watch
I am very happy that I purchased this watch with many useful features for a reasonable price

Good for cardio, but nothing else.
A nice watch, but it could be so much better. It needs a stopwatch and profiles for weight training, circuit training/crossfit and swimming - then it would be all the watch you'd ever need. This is a missed opportunity and the watch is average as a result.

My experience with Garmin's watch.
My daughter bought the watch for me.I did everything according to your instructions.Something happened and the language changed to Germen. Also my steps count desapeared. I'm very disappointed since nobody can fix it.I don't enjoy using my new Garmin watch:(

Average battery life
I have seen that the battery life is limited to just 5 days and that too with limited use of GPS.I think it's a sour point.Any ways to improve it

Simple to use and adjust
This is my second forerunner watch. It changed my motivation to exercise, especially thanks to the GPS

Easy to use!
Bought this 3 weeks ago & I’ve loved it from day one! I’m not good w/computers & I don’t take time to read user manuals. This watch is very easy to figure out the main features. Also the battery last a looooong time. The large display is great as I have vision problems. I liked mine so much, husband bought one for himself!

Not accurate.
I question the accuracy of the watch. It tells me I have not had any REM sleep, and last night I did not wear the watch to bed, but today it says I slept 6 hours and 52 minutes. how can that be?

Great for Price but Limited Data Fields
Great watch for the price as long as you can live with a very limited number of data fields. My 10 year old Garmin had many more available. I'd like to at least see Time of Day and Elevation. I hike in the Grand Canyon a lot and like to know how many more feet up I have to go. I can use my iPhone for that now, but it would be nice to have that on my watch like my great 10 year old Forerunner 305. Those two fields are really about the only ones I want as I just use a watch to monitor my heart rat...

I Love my Forerunner so Much I bought it Again
This is my second Forerunner 35, replacing my first which was less than 2 years old. Why the still high rating? For the first 20 months that I owned my first 35 it was more than smooth sailing- it was simple, easy, mindless drifting. Using the watch for my runs, walks, step tracking, elliptical, etc... was all a breeze, easier than it had ever been with any other watch. I ended up wearing it almost every day, and not just for workouts. But then I took it on vacation as my only watch, and on a ra...
