It's complicated.
I was greatly disappointed in the Forerunner 255 Music. It is far more complicated than the vivoactive6 I was upgrading from. I was looking forward to more emphasis on walking and hiking but couldn't get past the first "Run" screen.

Best value gps running watch
The non Amoled screen is way better in bright sunny conditions. I only charge it once every other week. The Spotify compatibility is great. I swim with it in the pool and saltwater and it’s never had any issues. I use when skiing, which is fun. The heartbeat sensor seems to be very accurate and the steps counter is pretty good too. The training status seems to be very accurate and keeps me from getting burnt out. I’ve had it for over 3 years now and it’s going strong.

I upgraded my watch specifically for my Ironman race because my older garmin couldnt last all day anymore and I wanted my watch throughout my race. Well, the Garmin messed up twice. I have owned the Garmin Forerunner 255 Music for about two years and I use it daily for tracking MTB rides and my overall health journey. I love this watch. Great features and a great price
The FR255 Music is a great middle range Garmin tool. The sleep monitoring, multi-sport capabilities, battery life and how it stands up to rough daily wear is amazing. The battery may not last as long as the enduro and it may not look as cool as the Fenix, but this watch does everything you need and as a bonus, stores music so you can run without taking your phone

Not as great as I was expecting
As a runner, I really wanted a watch that was easily synced to strava, had basic health metrics and had music available. Figuring out the music is a nightmare. Its the least user friendly watch Ive owned. Even with watching youtube videos it still is complex. The watch has major connectivity issues.

This watch is super impressive for the price, it has even more features than I expected and I like that the Garmin couch comes without a subscription unlike some competitors. This watch is designed for runners but its very compatable for hikers as well. I use it for running, hike and trail running and it exceeds expectations in all events. The customization they offer is refreshing. Definitely reccomend!

Forerunner 255 is Amazing!!
I love my new Forerunner 255 with music! I’m an older runner and was afraid the technology would be too difficult to upload and play music but omg, if I can do it, anyone can! It’s super user friendly and I love being able to listen to music on my runs without toting my phone along, it’s so freeing! I also love all the data it shares with me and the Garmin Coach option! It’s a fabulous watch and I highly recommend getting one!

PERFECT WATCH!
I purchased a month ago after a long hiatus from running, but loyal garmin fan. Love it!! This watch is amazing and has all the features plus more. The music is great and love that I can sync with Spotify. Ease of use for all buttons and I’ve only tapped into the basics of all the features. Great price point and I went with white this time - no regrets at all! This is THE running watch to get!
