Worth a tryout
Would RecommendI had been using a Monster Maul for a number of years. Its heavy and because of the wide angle of the blade had frequent rebound. The Fiskar rebounds less and seems split as well as the heavier Maul, but doesn't get stuck like an axe. Also, the Fiskar has good balance, permanent head attachment, and shock protected handle with a good grip.

Easy splitter, stock can get damaged
Would RecommendEasily splits new hardwood. The stock holding the axe head to the handle can be damaged if you bring it down onto the wood (which can happen with bad aim or if the wood falls toward you before you bring the axe down). But even if the stock is damaged it still holds the axe head in place.
