Would RecommendQuality handle and sharp blade. Very happy with my purchase of this ax, comes with full lifetime warranty and claims to be virtually unbreakable. Extremely satisfied so far.

Dull blade.
Would Not RecommendOverall it is a nice design. But ... it is dull as a rock. Was it designed by lawyers? Until I sharpen it, the blade renders it almost useless as a hatchet.

Awesome Hatchet
Would RecommendI bought this hatchet 3 years ago and use it to split wood. I've beaten the crud out of it with an 8lb sledge and it hasn't deformed or chipped whatsoever. I probably use it for much more than it was designed for and it has held up well. I keep it sharp and it holds an edge for a long time. Very impressed with this thing.
That’s some serious use—and it’s great to know your hatchet has stood up to it all while keeping a sharp edge. Thanks for putting it to the test and ...

Functional/nice weight/sharp durable edge with cvr
Would RecommendNow own two. Has a nice weight, sharp, holds an edge well, great handle that fits the palm comfortably. Handle has a curl at the bottom end to prevent the hatchet from slipping from the hand on the down-stroke while ensuring a good grip. Great safety feature that it comes with a head/blade storage cover for when not in use.
Sounds like the hatchet is a perfect fit for your needs! The weight, grip, and included blade cover make it safe, comfortable, and ready for repeated...

Somewhat disappointed
Would RecommendI bought this hatchet based upon my experience with a Fiskars splitting axe that I purchased about 10 years ago. That axe has split a LOT of firewood and the blade has only needed to touched up with a few times. But this hatchet appears to use an entirely different steel. So far, I've only used it a couple of times in addition to a saw to limb trees before bucking and splitting. I was really disappointed to see the edge badly worn and chipped after working only on soft pine. Still a better mad...

Solid, reliable tool
Would RecommendI work at a large nature reserve/park. Part of my job is invasive plant control. This hatchet has held its edge after girdling hundreds of buckthorn trees. I also frequently use it to make kindling and it does that job quite well. I use a couple other Fiskars products at work and they're all very consistently durable. They retain their sharpness despite daily use and sometimes misuse.

Glad it’s making a strong first impression! A sharp, dependable hatchet is always a great addition to the tool lineup.
