The tip is sharp and is great to slice into the soil and then loosen. Many uses around the yard/garden. The best tool for the money, you can spend.

Quality has diminished over the years. I had one last for years. I brought a 2nd and it broke immediately, I replaced it on warranty at the retailer and that one broke immediately. Its at the point now where its not worth my time to get the free replacement. I MAY consider one of the other similar hori hori products.
