Heavy and Difficult to Move

I just bought this vacuum based on reputation. I'm disappointed that it is difficult to use on our carpet. The suction is strong but to push and pull the unit, it takes an unusual amount of strength. I'm not sure if there's a way to change the height of the carpet setting or not. If there are only two settings, we won't be able to use this.

Best vacuum I've ever owned

My old vacuum cleaner broke and my house was dusty for a year. I couldn't stand using a broom and dustpan because it would always leave a line of dirt behind. I picked this thing up a week ago. Literally I only had to take a few passes on my low pile rug and boy did it clean it so well. I was able to clean all of the dirt and dust from my floors and above floor surfaces. Buy this machine!!

Scratches my floor

This vacuum is great for picking up my German shepherds hair however her hair also clogs the mini wheels in about 2-3 uses (I vacuum 2x weekly) which causes large scratches in my LVP floor. I realize cleaning out the bottom of the vacuum would prevent this, but for the exorbitant cost-I expected much more. We had a prior dyson vacuum without any issues.

Disappointed

I have had this vacuum for 2 years and my husband and I both hate to use it. We had a lower price point Dyson before that lasted us a good 8 years and I loved it. This model is extremely heavy and my arm and wrist hurt after every use. When you try to put it in the upright position it is always a challenge to get it into position and stay right the first time . This never happened with the last Dyson. too heavy and awkard

I bought this online thinking it is the same like the old version I have and LOVE. Turns out it is bigger, heavier and awkward!!!! and on top of it, I was quite surprised when I opened it and found out that it had 3 colors; pink, red and the signature purple. The colors are the least of my concerns, but it is very hard to maneuver because of it's larger floor piece and it is VERY HEAVY.

Clogs too easy!

This Dyson was bought as a replacement to my 13yr old purple PetBall Dyson. I have had a take it apart more times than I care to remember. It currently isn't sucking and shuts itself off after a while. Only a couple of years old, I am looking to purchase another vacuum but I'm leary after this experience.

Problematic

The ball vacuum does not navigate plush carpeting or throw rugs as mentioned several times. Why doesn’t Dyson post this caveat?

I hate this vacuum cleaner

I HATE this vacuum cleaner. The suction is great if you can figure out how to use it. Without exaggeration there must be 20 different buttons and levers. I tried to follow the manual and even tried to follow instructions on YouTube. It took me 1 hour to figure out how to clean out the canister and to use the hose yesterday. I've spent 1/2 an hour today and I still can't remove the wand. In case you think I'm just dumb, I have a MBA from an Ivy League university. This thing is an engineer's dream...

Didn’t work from box

My husband and I just purchased this vacuum and it came brand new from dyson but the vacuum didn’t lean back at all. We tried all the troubleshooting and everything recommends clearing out debris but there’s nothing there because we haven’t been able to vacuum. It’s just frustrating when the vacuum doesn’t work out of the box and all the troubleshooting points to a jam that is not there.

So Many Small Issues with this Model/Super Heavy!

So I have had this vacuum for about a year now and am sorely disappointed in the way this Dyson was created. Again I will first complain about how HEAVY it is - Seriously, if you are not strong and you have more than one level in your home, reconsider before purchasing this vacuum. Moving it up and down the stairs is a challenge - my son can't do it and my husband complains of it's weight when he has to so take that into consideration. Wand issue made me return it

As others have stated, the wand simply does not go back into the cradle easily. I tried every tip/trick and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Who the heck wants to deal with that issue every time I vaccuum? Definitely a flaw in the design and I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed by now since it appears that many have the exact same issue. I returned it immediately.

I just purchased this vacuum less than a month ago and I’m super bummed I let my kids have the box rite away or I would have already returned it. Now I’m stuck with it until it dies unfortunately. Just NO

This vacuum will not stay upright when rolling to store. It is heavy and when you use the hose attachments the whole thing just flops over. Worthless hose. Vacuum cannot reach under any furniture and it is messy to empty. I thoroughly regret this purchase. It is over priced and does not preform as advertised.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible,horrible...

This vacuum has been nothing but a disaster for me! I am an older person on a fixed income with musculoskeletal issues. This vacuum is constantly clogging up requiring me to take it apart, clean it out, and put it back together (no easy feat in my condition [plus did I mention I lack an engineering PhD]). I Dyson would decrease my cleaning time but it has DOUBLED it! I am VERY disappointed!

The only thing it does right is suck!

I got the yellow dyson ball vacuum. The party you take out to use it hand held NEVER goes back in right! I had to use a dang hammer to get it in today! This is the worst money I've ever spent and will NEVER buy ANYTHING from this over priced piece of junk company! Even this review set up sucks!

Good suction but that’s about it

I LOVED my old Dyson DC 15 Animal. It was getting pretty old and I replaced so many parts that I finally decided to get something newer and possibly lighter. I regret buying this model. It is in fact much smaller and lighter. However, it seems cheaply made compared to my old Dyson. It’s difficult to remove the wand and replace it. It often doesn’t stay up right, pops into moving mode too easily, no foot button like the old ones. It gets really hot! Hot enough that my carpet is warm and I’m sweat...

it is the worst

this vacuum is so bulky so heavy & so hard to use around the house. i hate it. hair gets stuck in the bottom constantly it’s impossible to clean easily & it spits if this happens. i have cats and it’s a nightmare to use this thing. it takes forever too i would not recommend.

Great vacuum, but the wand needs work.

I bought this vacuum about a month ago, after much deliberation. It was between Dyson and another brand, and finally I settled on Dyson. Overall, I love the vacuum and I'm happy with it! It maneuvers very well, and fits into small areas easier than my old vacuum. My only complaint is that the quick release wand is tough to use. There isn't a lot of reach, and if you pull, the vacuum unlocks and tips backward.

Disgusting what it all picked up

Bought this vacuum as I kept breaking our cheap ones with all my long hair. It came in 2 days, super easy to put together and man does this thing work. I was appalled at what it all picked up in just the first use. My parents have owned their Dyson for over 10 years and have never had an issue. Excited to keep using this guy around the house.

Poor design.

This is my fourth Dyson and the worst by far. Very poor design. The tools are in a spot that they keep getting knocked off. My biggest problem is how the vacuum exhaust blows out the sides instead of maybe in the back which would’ve been better. While you’re vacuuming you can see dust and dog hair blowing all over the place. It’s nothing most expensive vacuum they have but I still regret spending the money.
