Exactly what i wanted and delivery was fast

A Big Little Tool

Dremel is getting into more serious woodworking, and this is a good example. With one of their cordless rotary tools this brings the functionality of a drill press to any location. Although bit size is limited I found it perfect for drilling uniformly spaced pilot holes for screws. I was also impressed that it could function vertically or horizontally. A very nice and useful addition to my workbench.

not precise for small holes (.8mm)

systematically breaks all my drill bits, does not go straight. trying to drill aluminium with .8mm drill bits (cobalt, hss, i tried many) and you can see that as soon as there is a bit of effort, the simple force on the lever sligthly tilts the holder; if you are bit down the hole, effort will de-center de drillbit and it will eventually snap... not enough rigidity on the device despite a good idea.

This simplifies so many things!

I bought this for my crafting business. It was a wish list item that I finally worked up to and, wow, did this deliver! It easily converts to a side-mounted buffing tool and drills holes that are perfect every time. I can’t wait to see the other things that I can use it for! This is such a time-saving, quality addition to my tool collection. I’m so glad I purchased this!

Great drill press

This Dremel drill press work station works great. I drilled holes in wood and brass that were 0.017" diameter. Previously I used hand drill arbors which were ok for wood but very difficult with the brass. The ability to rotate the drill to horizontal is very helpful when changing Dremel bits. It is curiously difficult to depress the Dremel detent button to lock the shaft while loosening or tightening the chuck. Dremel should make an easy fix to the problem. Overall, it's does what I need it to do.

There's occasionally some movement with the rotary tool that I'm having trouble tightening up, leading to not-so-clean holes. I'm also disappointed with a couple of small, mostly plastic wingnut-like parts used for tightening up the position of the tool and limiting the depth of the drill--they're hard to turn because of their size, and I'm worried that they will break at some point. The box had been opened, retaped, and crushed. It should have never been placed in store pickup. The staff was great that helped me get a refund. Props to James T.'s Crew! The item is probably great but I have never used one to rate it; it was a gift.

Does not work with an 8260

I bought an 8260 recently and this was the first accessory purchased to go with it. They are not compatible without forcing the rotary tool and damaging it or the workstation in doing so.
