Would Not RecommendDo not buy. Heavy. String impossible to install. String likes to fall out or break. :(

Just ok
Would Not RecommendI bought this like a year ago and liked it at first but very quickly realized the protection shield is just too small. Biggest drawback is the spool cover kept falling off until it no longer fit properly. To replace the cover I have to buy a complete quick feed spool which is about 30% the cost of the trimmer. I’m just going to sell as is and go with Milwaukee or some other brand.

Terribly disappointed!
Would Not RecommendThe first one I assembled, and the guard fell off after a few uses. When this happens, the screws to attach it are lost in the mess and it’s hard to find replacements. Even if replacement parts were easily available, should I trust it would not just fall off after a couple uses again? My second trimmer had the same issue. That’s right! I had to buy another one! That’s because my story gets worse! After approximately 2 months of use, the first trimmer failed. Engine began to smoke, an...

Sucks
Would Not RecommendHas no where to put the string once you have it wrapped. Good luck keeping tension and trying to fit the string throw the slots. Never used a more poorly designed weed eater…

Garbage. Burnt out after 10 minutes light use
Would Not RecommendThis is junk, major waste of money. Smoking after ten minutes of light use trimming grass that was short. It still worked after letting it cool down for one more second go, now it starts to spin up and immediately dies. Will no longer work at all. Complete crap. Never had a deeply tool that was so bad before, cannot believe they even released this garbage

Junk
Would Not RecommendI always thought Dewalt sold quality tools until I purchased the 20V weed trimmer....this is junk. After 1 year of very light use it won't stay running (motor issue) and the string feeder cover is worn through. From what I can tell you can't get the cover only the entire spool. Total rip off very disappointing as warranty is useless as it doesn't cover motor or labor.

Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendUsed for one season and was OK. Next season the motor quit. Bought this because I have other Dewalt tools and they work fine. Looking at reviews on other sites it is obvious that the motor has issues that Dewalt must be ware of. Very disappointed.

Very difficult to add string once the string break
I purchased last year and have tried to figure out away to add string to the unit. It normally takes at least a half an hour to get the head to release. I have added a lubricant to try any make the release easier and did not help. I understand the locking mechanics but it does not twist and release without a a great deal of time and effort. Purchased another brand

No problems after two seasons
Would RecommendOne that researches before buying, I read all the reviews from various sites, including here. The only issue I have had with this trimmer is that the guard could be larger and you don't really want to be trimming wet grass that will get into the motor housing through the vents... it is electric. And keep the motor housing vents clean so the motor does not overheat from those same clogged vents. For heavy brush that you may want to use a different attachment, don't... this is not a commercial too...

Stopped working after about 6 uses
Would Not RecommendBought this about a year ago and have used it between 6 and 10 times. It stopped working. Seems like the motor is burned out or something is providing enough resistance that it won't spin. It gives a little start when you first trigger it, but then nothing. Sometimes doesn't even give a little start on first trigger. It was acting up yesterday and working periodically and then worked a bit this morning and now complete dead. The website sucks for finding out information. Been looking ...

Useless
Would Not RecommendI live on 0.25 acre ... this trimmer ran out of juice when only the front lawn was 1/2 done. A pair of scissors would be faster. And any tool that needs to be struck against the ground to feed the string is very quickly going to break.

All started good
Would Not RecommendI really liked this trimmer so much that when my first stopped working I bought another. When my second stopped I got frustrated. My batteries were full of life. My trimmer wouldn’t come on. I opened it up and a wire had come Loose. I connect the wire and works well again. We pack up to go for the wknd to mow the camp at hunting lease. Wife grabs the trimmer That don’t work. I put battery in and it acts like wanted work but not enough juice. Batteries are full. So I open it up and the blac...

Works great!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had the DeWalt weed eater for over two years and it’s still running strong. Not a fan of the string assembly (the line is not especially easy to load), but once loaded it does well- recommend the dewalt string, it’s the most resilient.

Works great trimming around the house...
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last summer and so far it's been working great... you need to clean the screen out periodically to keep it running cooler... it replaced my gas powered trimmer.

Powerful!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this trimmer for a couple of months. It is my first battery powered trimmer and I love the freedom of not having cords. It really does the job!

Great String Trimmer!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The light weight of this trimmer makes it one of the reasons I bought it. The power of the 20V cuts through the toughest of grass and the bump and feed feature is amazing!

Great features! Love the variable power trigger!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this item a month ago and I'm so happy I did. Ohh yeah plenty of power with long battery life. This trimmer is built dewalt ruff.

Quick and light weight.
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I kept jumping between buying a gas trimmer or electric trimmer. I am glad I chose to go with this trimmer. It is perfect for the medium size yard that I have. It is quick and easy to assemble and I already had another battery charged so I was able to get going. The variable speed is wonderful as I only have light grass to trim so I am not wasting battery life. I did switch to the high speed to tackle a bigger section of weeds and it handled it...
