Great tent for family camping

I purchased this for family camping 13 years ago. It has stood up to multi-day down pours, high winds, and hot summer days. It's very spacious and tall enough to stand up in. During one thunder storm we had 10 people inside playing cards and board games. It takes two people to set up but once you do it a few times it goes up in minutes. Great tent

I was honestly worried that since it was cheap it wouldn't hold up to Florida rain. I was glad I was wrong. Rained the whole night and inside stayed completely dry. Door stays ajar if not zipped up, velcro might as well be useless, which is annoying but otherwise having an easy in and out was fantastic. My Marmot 4p tent has 3x more pockets than this 8p tent. It has good ventilation. Stays cool in Florida sun. No other complaints.

Floor plan good poles not so good

We have used the tent twice. I bought it less than 2 yrs ago and the end poles have broke three times. I repaired the poles for the first two times and I have bought a new pole and it has now broke. This tent has been used maybe 10 days. We have followed all directions to set up.

Frustrating garbage tent

Insane to me that Coleman could degrade to such low quality over the years. The first tent I bought since the Coleman Go two person tent. Right off the bat trying to get this thing set up, one of the poles snaps in half next to my face. Even after the trip I managed to inhale enough fiberglass to make it impossible to eat. My tent also happens to be missing one of the settings for the poles so I can't use the rainfly without sticking a stake sideways into the ground and placing it in the end tha...

Sad quality

I love the size of this tent however the tent poles suck. 2 have broken so far. The most recent trip I took, one of the poles broke while the tent was set up and punched a hole through the rainfly. Now I’m in the market for another tent and will be researching brands outside of Coleman.

If you are actually into camping, don't buy it

This tent is nice for set up. However, the rain fly does not cover the whole tent so expect water to get in. The pole holder parts are not durable enough and poles get stuck in the easily and rip material. There is NOT enough ventilation through the tent. Especially if you have to keep your rainfly on. Because it doesn't cover the whole tent you have to keep your side windows closed for rain. So your stuck with your door and the back "ventilation" that doesn't actually let any air through. Awesome durability!!!

This tent withstood an 80 mph wind/sandstorm, was flung a foot off the ground with the roof against a tree for 15 minutes!!! The curved door pole suffered one break and one of the tent support poles suffered one break. Great build Coleman. Now, I just need 2 replacement poles.

Their poles aren’t made like they used to be

We setup this tent and the next morning I noticed the side poles were tented and not round like it should be. The poles on both sides (the gray poles) snapped. Not even on a connection and of course punctured the pole sleeve and then tore it when we tried to take out the poles. The tent can’t be used again. It seems like a lot of people are having the same issues

Do not buy

First time using the tent I thought I had hooked up the cover wrong when the pole broke. I replaced it. Our second time using this tent and now the other side broke in the same spot, so this product is defective and I don’t recommend buying it unless you want to have a project.

Side poles are garbage.

I have bought two now. First one, one pole broke second one , two poles broke over a two day camping. Poe broke on night one. Second pole broke on night too.

Tent leaking after second use, 2 tent poles split at the ends , no high heat or wind. seams there are not even replacement poles for this tent, all around fail

Spacious, weather-resistant, and easy to set up —

I recently used the Coleman Montana 8-Person Tent on a weekend camping trip with friends, and it exceeded expectations. It was super spacious — easily fit all 8 of us with room for gear. Setup was straightforward and took less than 20 minutes. The tent held up well in light rain and kept us dry all night. Ventilation was decent, and the hinged door is a great touch. It’s a bit bulky to carry, but totally worth it for comfort and weather protection. Highly recommend for families or group trips!

Excellent

Big, very spacious. Can withstand heavy winds and rain. Great for a big family and/or a big group of friends. Assembly is easy as I am used to setting up tents.

Worst tent don’t waste your $ broken pole 2nd use

If I could give this tent, a zero star, I would. We had an old common tent that we had used for 15 to 20 years and only replaced it because we thought it was time to upgrade purchased this tent and used it twice on the second time the pole broke exactly where a friend of hers pole broke the first time they use their tent. Coleman tent

It is my first tent for the family of 4. It has a lot of space and feels like small home. Especially good for families with little kids. We can easily put 3-4 sleeping cots inside. It is waterproof and has windows so you can have fresh air inside. The only cons is assembly. It takes a lot of time! Ah no, the storage as well it is not easy to pack it back to the small bag.

The tents are highly durable and easy to assemble, ideal for family camping. They have excellent ventilation and are highly waterproof. They can accommodate up to 8 people, but come in a wide variety of sizes.

Great big tent

Big tent can fit more than 8 people. Good airflow so you can breathe at night. Storm resistant if anchored down. Putting together is fairly simple just follow instructions.

I love this tent. It is easy to assemble , directions are clear. Great family tent or for group of friends. Very durable and no leaks or issues when it rained. Ventilation was good, never to hot or cold. Breaks down easy and portability is awesome
