What Customers Are Saying
This wood preservative product has received mixed reviews. Many customers are satisfied with its effectiveness in protecting wood against termites, rot, and water damage. They praise its ability to penetrate and seal the wood, as well as its ease of application. However, a significant number of customers have concerns about the strong, lingering odor, which can deter use of the treated area. Some also note inconsistencies in coverage and color. Despite these drawbacks, most agree it is a useful product for preserving and protecting untreated wood.

Would RecommendI wanted to coat the ends of several 4 X 4's before I used them for my garden gate posts. The preservative went on very easily with a paint brush.

Additional protection
Would RecommendUsed this as additional protection for the pressure treated lumber used in a deck project. Especially on the end cuts and underside of the lumber where I would never be able to treat again.

Easy to use
Would RecommendThis stuff was easy to use. Just brush it on liberally...wait a while and repeat. About 1/5 gallon did the cut ends on the pier and beam (10 piers) foundation for my 8x12 telescope astronomy building. I wish I could've got just a quart. The smell hangs around for a while. As to its effectiveness against wood bugs...only time will tell.

Use for all exposed wood projects.
Would RecommendThis is the best product and only thing that really works in this category. I've used 20-30 gallons over 20 years with various projects in CA (dry) (termite and rot protection) and SD (wet, ice)(rot protection). For termite protection, I recommend repeat treatment every 2-3 years. I use it on cut ends of treated lumber but also coat treated and untreated wood, to improve longevity.
