This thing is a true life saver and obviously from the reviews people don't know how a weed eater works saying there's was not good..I bought this on sales during the holiday at a steal for 42 bucks I use it commercially for work it's a true beast especially when you set it to 3 very good product would recommend to anyone that ask.. thank you lowes

They are cheap for a reason! Total waste of $ I bought 2 for my large yard and both the bump heads on the bottom of the shaft stripped out I bought a replacement online I put it on it stripped out the first time I used it! I seriously just set them out on the curb! Junk

Cheap but works

Old whip died soi found this cheapo. Works great. If your scared your gonna get a lemon buy a warranty for 7$ and let them deal with it.

Tread problem

When finished tread I tryed change but the screw is sealed and they did not want to change the machine in Lowes they said to call the factory. the worst purchase.

A disappointment

The Bolens worked fine during the first season and about half-way through the second when the bump knob would not come off. I tried some of the suggestions from other reviewers, but they didn't work. I was about ready to give up when I decided to try again; this time forgetting about removing the bump knob. Two years later still amazing

This is the same product as Troy bilt but 40 bucks less. No trouble in two years and i put this trimmer through some abuse i use any 2 stroke oil I can find and it just works. Highly recommended for average person no need for over expensive trimmers most are made in the same place with different brands on them.

You get what you pay for

Engine runs fine but is loud. Biggest problem is with the trim line. Constantly snagging and not feeding out like it should. Have only used it a few times and have had trouble removing bump knob to fix string. Had to pry off plastic cap to get to the nut and use vice grip to loosen bolt. Not worth all the effort

Aweful

Bought it and a mouth and 1 day later it broke, did not want to start. Don't buy.

Don't buy this junk

As others have said the best feature about this trimmer is the price. I had no issues the first few times I used it, but now I can't get it to start, continue to run if it does start, and I end up spending way too much time pulling the starting line only to get frustrated that it doesn't work. This is a large piece of junk that is not worth the price. Spend a little more and get something dependable - I wish I had.

I have a horse property and this works well. easy assembly worked 3 hours non stop on it out of the box.

Great little machine, affordable warranty when purchased at Lowes. Sylva NC Lowes made it an easy pickup.

Dont buy

Purchased March 31. Could not get bump head off after 5 uses. Called store who told me to call manufacturer. Rep was not very professional but gave me a local place to take it to. They were able to remove the head but said it was an issue with the shaft. Long story short you get what you pay for. Spend the extra and stay away from this cheaply made trimmer.

Decent

Not a bad weed eater - started right away and kept on running- was reluctant to get this because of poor reviews but so far worked out- also the bad reviews were over 5 yrs ago! Gr8 price but get the premixed fuel -its worth the money

BEST deal ever on a Gas Trimmer

I can sympathize with the majority of complaints I read on this little trimmer. But, I bought mine 5 years ago and it continues to serve me well! It started and ran well the first season. The second season it did not want to start properly or idle without stalling or bogging during acceleration. Bolens 110

This product ran okay but the cutting head has failed. The Bolens website to find out how to repair it was worse than useless. It looks like I will trash a perfectly operational engine because the bump knob with the retaining bolt is apparently stripped. I popped the knob off to expose the bolt head but that idea failed. Flee from this one

Bought this weed eater mostly because of price, my bad. Lasted 2 months before the problems began. Then it quit requiring a trip to the shop, which I didn't have time for, so I bought another, figuring, now I'll have 2. 2 weeks later second broke. Now I have 2 shiny yellow tools that neither one works. Useless.

Great string trimmer

I bought this one year ago,for the price it is a great trimmer for home use only I would not use it for commercial use but for home use it is a great deal I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to product and for the Price it is a great deal!
