Great Forstner Bit Kit

This is a well compiled kit of Forstner bits. I only needed two sizes, but ended up getting the whole kit because the price for the kit was better than the cost of two or three single bits, and it came with a case. I have always gotten good usage out of my Irwin tools, so this was a no brainer for me. It did the job I needed it to do. Now, to find other projects to use it on.

Needed these for a new project and they performed perfectly. Easy to use and great results We bought the multi pack because it was the best price for them and now we are prepared for the next project.

Worked well, but....

It did exactly as I needed. But I needed one specific size which I could not get as a single unit or in a smaller package. So I had to buy the largest quantity which made my overall project more expensive.

Gets the job done

I used this 14-piece IRWIN Marples Forstner bit set while working on a staircase newel post, and it performed really well. The bits cut clean, flat-bottom holes and stayed steady without wandering, which was important for the precise placement I needed on the post. The edges were sharp right out of the box and went through the wood smoothly without a lot of tear-out. I also liked having multiple sizes available in the set so I could match the exact hole size for the hardware I was installing. ...

Not too bad

I just purchased the 14 piece set of Forster bits today for a project I am working on. I used a cordless drill and drilled 18 holes at 1 3/8" deep. The 3/4" bit worked perfectly. Granted, as some have mentioned the bits aren't esthetically great but worked fine for a DIYer. Some also mentioned that these bits slip in the drill, come on guys put your purse down and tighten the chuck! I've seen so many guys grab the drill hold the bit and spin 'er up. That's just not tight enough from my experienc...

Will make holes constantly.

Like the case and the quantity of bits. Down side the bits can slip in the drills chuck. So 4 stars.

Lots of bit sizes.

Needed to make some holes in a piece of plywood and what not. This is a comprehensive set with just about any size you'd ever need.
