Heavy iron, but resevoir can rust

My mother had 1 of these irons, as do I. Love this iron, especially the havy weight if it. But I have had some issues with rust occuring inside the water resevoir that can leak out onto your clothes as you iron.

Heirloom Iron still amazing!

My old Classic had been used for over 30 years. Would not have any other iron!!!

Good but is not anti-drip

Even if the water reservoir isn't full, it still sloshes water out of the water fill opening. There should be a plug or guard so that the water doesn't slosh out.

Too Quick to Shut Off

I THOUGHT this would be like my old iron, but this 30-second shutoff is awful for complicated projects. I'm trying to get a bunch of pleats lined up to iron, but then the iron is blinking and not heating. The manual doesn't tell you what the various blinking patterns mean -- red, green, blinking red, no light. Turning the dial off and on does not allow the iron to start again; I have to UNPLUG it. My (expensive) ironing board doesn't allow me to rest the iron vertically without bending the cor...

Great Steam Iron!!

I love that it has an automatic shut off button so even if you forget to turn it off, you have a peace of mind. The steam setting is awesome - gets those stubborn wrinkles out! The different temperature setting is a needed feature to ensure your clothes get ironed correctly. Would definitely recommend getting this steam iron!

Thermostat like fake

After a little use Leaks water. The Thermostat was gone and got Sacrifice of few clothings to assure retirement.

Love the retro design

great iron but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cord does not swivel up and down as it should, needed for when you "sit" or "rest" the iron. I've noticed this issue on two of these new irons. So the iron WILL sit, but is not as stable as the iron with the swivel cord. This really is a mis-design and want to know why they did this. The cord is really bent on these new irons...not a good thing.

This a really nice

This a really nice Black & Decker iron, it iron really and I love using this type because, definitely when it has a whole lot of wrinkles. Very nice.

Has a variety of

Has a variety of settings. Doesn't cause water stains from the steam option. Gets most minor wrinkles out but you have to really work to get the deep wrinkles out. It is a bit on the cheaper end so you get what you pay for I guess.

Excellent iron

The Classic Black & Decker iron is the best! I have been married 43 years & I only use this iron. The last one I had lasted 9 years! If you iron weekly like I do, this is the best iron to use. Thank you Black & Decker for making a great product!

Small but powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had several Rowentas and had trouble with all of them. Decided to buy this B&D had have been very happy with it! I can see how much water to fill and how much is left! It is nice and light weight.

Nice and heavy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Feels like the good, old irons from the past--the time when irons really worked. Just the registration process was a pain, asking for information (serial number!) that did not exist. Also, I called the company to ask how much water it holds (NOTHING in the manual, believe it or not!) and was told 1/4 cup to 2 cups... Obviously the person who answered had no clue what she was talking about: the iron holds 1/4 cup.
