lasted not quite a year

After 10 months it started to leak very slowly. Every couple of hours we would hear the water tank refilling because the water level had dropped too low. Now it happens more and more quickly and I have to look at a replacement - again.

This was an exact replacement for the original valve. However, you have to remove the tank, and it did not come with new rubbers for the tank screws, or a rubber for the center flange. A little judicial use of red rtv automotive silicone sealed the screws, and outlet flange. The toilet works perfectly now. No more slowly leaking into the toilet bowl. The included plastic wrench was a very nice feature.

Poor Engineering

I have now purchased multiples of this unit. They don't last long before leaking. Does not seal either well or correctly. The big green seal does not fit well. Once it drops back down it always looks askance, slightly off. I would recommend purchasing a toilet that does not use this type of flush valve.

Exact replacement

I was unable to use this product on a Champion 4 1.6LPF. When I removed the tank to install the new assembly, I noticed a broken plastic diverter down inside the bowl portion of the toilet. I was unable to locate a replacement part for it, so we purchased a new toilet and returned the flush valve kit. The new Champion 4 we purchased has a similar diverter, but it is not plastic, it is an integral ceramic part of the bowl.

Part delivered thru Lowe’s locker service was a returned part with missing pieces. I didn’t know this till my plumber opened the box to do my install. Very frustrated as my plumber had to go get parts to make do with my repair which increased my cost overall . Lowe’s should not put returned parts back into stock without a review. Parts were dirty and parts missing from who ever returned it.

Crappy OEM replacement parts

This is the second flush valve assembly that I bought and installed in my American Standard Champion 4 toilet. Both failed immediately after installation. I called American Standard consumer help line and was walked through several steps and checks none of which solved the problem. I then asked what I should do. I was advised to buy a new toilet. To say the least, I am very disappointed with the OEM replacement parts and will not buy another American Standard product again

I had to call a different Lowes in Winter garden as my lowes in Clermonr had only one in stock and it was opened and pieces missing. The associate kindly called wintergarden and they had 3. I went to pickup and the box for me had been opened. The lady there was very nice and i went to chrck for an unopened box on the shelf as they had 3. Well the other 2 on the shelf were all messed up even more! What the heck! Please dont make it hard for us seniors and veterans!

Costumer unhappy

I purchase this toilet like a year ago since I installed it had a like every 15 minutes it drain the tank, very unhappy, I never buy another, american standard toilet.

These Valves Leak

It will not stop leaking. I went to see if there was something wrong with the seal and found out the seal is not replaceable on this model like the valve I replaced. The diameter of the seal is just large enough to cover the opening. If it lands a little off center it leak bad. If I physically place the seal on the opening, it leaks slowly. DO NOT PURCHASE. I was considering an aftermarket flushmaster valve but some reviews say it has the same issues. The original valve lasted at least 9 years. ...

JUNK!

so I have two American Standard Champion toilets in my home. The original flush valves lasted 14 years which is great however both began leaking within a week after being replaced due to ghost flushing. I replaced the gasket on one and it works for brief amounts of time until either the retaining ring under the gasket becomes loose or the guide under the flush valve unscrews and falls off. New Toilet and leaks

After 1 month of installing it the rubber flapper leaks. The tank will refill constantly like every 5 minutes. This is very annoying and a waste of water.

Leaks after 6 months be warned

It will leak after 6 months. I thought it would last at least 5 years or more like the original one but nope. I'm trying now Fluidmaster Universal 3 in.
